Girls Will Be Girls Star Kesav Binoy Kiron On How He Deals With Trolls

Kesav Binoy Kiron, who delivered a compelling performance in Girls Will Be Girls, left a strong impression on audiences despite playing a character with many grey shades. In a recent interview, he candidly addressed the challenges of dealing with social media backlash.
Appearing on The Free Press Journal's chat show The Next Big Thing, Kesav spoke about his career and opened up about the trolling he faced after the film's release. 'I have got a few hate comments. Maybe for the film or my character. But even one or two for me as an actor." He stated that, despite the modest number, reading something unpleasant initially shook him. Kesav recalled, 'I remember the first time I read something negative about me, I allowed myself two minutes. I actually got goosebumps reading that. I was like, oh God, this is terrible."
Furthermore, he noted that he has seen many of his idols being criticised and that these negative opinions will emerge from all sides. He added, 'And if I pay too much attention to the negative, then the fifty people who have said I've done a good job, I'm invalidating them. And that feels very wrong."
Girls Will Be Girls was produced by Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha. Shuchi Talati created and directed it, and it presents an engrossing story about a boarding school in a remote Himalayan village in North India.
The film, which stars Kani Kusruti and Preeti Panigrahi, as well as Kesav Binoy Kiran, follows the story of Mira, a young girl who attends a tough boarding school in the Himalayas. Mira's sexual awakening and exploration of desire and romance are disrupted by her mother, who has never had the opportunity to go through a similar coming-of-age experience.
The film's honest portrayal of youth, identity, and familial upheaval has captivated audiences all over the world.
