Vaani Kapoor breaks silence on not being part of War 2: ‘If Tiger Shroff comes back, I am returning too'

War 2, one of the most anticipated films of 2024, is just weeks away from its grand release on August 14. A sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, the film promises to take the action and spectacle a notch higher, but with some major changes in its star cast. While Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Rana will reprise their roles from the original, actors Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor will not be returning. Instead, the film welcomes South superstar Jr NTR and Kiara Advani into the fold, along with Anil Kapoor as a new entrant into the expanding YRF Spy Universe. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vaani Kapoor finally broke her silence on not being a part of the sequel. Promoting her upcoming series Mandala Murders, Vaani said with a laugh, 'My poor character died in the previous film, how can they bring her back?' When asked if she regrets not being a part of War 2, Vaani responded with grace and gratitude. 'Not at all. I wish them the best. I feel incredibly grateful that I at least got the opportunity to be part of a film like War. The OG War. I saw the trailer. It's looking beautiful. It's cinematic and larger-than-life. Kudos to the team.' ALSO READ | Hari Hara Veera Mallu movie review: Pawan Kalyan's epic is a long, loud misfire She also pointed out that she's not the only one missing from the sequel. 'Me, Sid (Siddharth Anand), and Tiger–we're all not there. Tiger and I, both of our characters died in War 1,' she added with a poker face. But, she warned the makers. 'If Tiger comes back, I am coming back too, my friend,' she quipped. While it was Siddharth Anand who confirmed the film's sequel in 2019, claiming he was working on the script, he was replaced by Ayan Mukerji. The latter is known for Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. This marks his first collaboration with Yash Raj Films and outside Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
