Aaron Rodgers Destroying Narratives
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's how Aaron Rodgers has fit into the team's locker room culture so far at training camp. There were some that though the addition of Rodgers, known as much for his takes on The Pat McAfee Show and Joe Rogan Experience as his quarterback play lately, would create a toxic situation for the team's culture. So far, that has been a million miles from the truth. Alan breaks it down. #steelers #herewego #nfl CONNECT WITH STEELERS NOW: Steelers Now: SN on Twitter: SN on FB: SN on Insta:

Latest update on $110 million DT, potential Patriots free agent target
The news that the Las Vegas Raiders cut defensive tackle Christian Wilkins one year into his four-year, $110 million deal was obviously surprising. ESPN's Adam Schefter provided context around an alleged incident that might have been one of the reasons why the team decided it was time to part ways. According to Schefter, Wilkins playfully went to kiss a teammate on top of the head, and the player took offense to that action. 'From speaking to people inside the locker room, I think what everybody's dancing around, and tiptoeing around, is the fact that when you speak to people there inside the locker room, they say that Christian playfully went to kiss a teammate on top of his head, and people said that player took offense to it," Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show. Wilkins recorded 17 tackles and two sacks last season in only five game appearances for the Raiders, before suffering a season-ending foot injury. New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel stated last week that the team would have a conversation about signing Wilkins. He has some familiarity with the former first-round draft pick from trying to recruit him in college, when he coached at Ohio State. Wilkins racked up 65 tackles, nine sacks, two pass deflections and two fumble recoveries in his final year with the Miami Dolphins in 2023. If healthy, he could be a massive addition to the Patriots' defensive front.

All of WWE's cards are on the table for Cody Rhodes-John Cena main event at SummerSlam
It's all there for WWE at SummerSlam when it comes to John Cena and Cody Rhodes, as it feels like they have left them the ability to pivot in whatever direction needed seamlessly. For a while, I've earmarked Sunday night at MetLife Stadium (7 p.m., Peacock) as the perfect time to pull off one of the best double-turns in wrestling history. Have Rhodes want to regain the Undisputed WWE championship so badly that he is willing to make that deal with The Rock and beat the babyface out of Cena, so the 17-time champion can end his retirement tour the right way. The Rock said in his interview on 'The Pat McAfee Show' after not appearing at WrestleMania 41 that they could always go back to him coming for Rhodes' 'soul.' It would add a meaningful byproduct to Cena's heel turn in using it to turn its biggest babyface in Rhodes to the dark side. WWE has left itself the ability to do just that. Fans noticed Rhodes wearing glasses similar to The Rock and the watch that The Final Boss once posted to social media when he returned on the July 18 episode of SmackDown. We saw Rhodes seething at the table during his contract signing with Cena two weeks ago. Last week on SmackDown, Rhodes, who said he would not flinch to beat his mentor this time, spoke of wanting to wrestle the true Cena and is hellbent on trying to bring the babyface back to us.

Raiders may have fired Christian Wilkins over an awkward kiss with teammate, claims insider
Why did Raiders really fire Christian Wilkins? Source: X Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins was released over a playful kiss he shared with a teammate one year into his four-year deal, claims a famous sports insider. The Raiders reportedly voided the remaining $35.2 million which was guaranteed on Wilkins's contract. The Raiders had signed Wilkins in 2024 to a $110 million contract with $84.75 million guaranteed, but had to list him on the physically unable to perform list before the start of training camp. At the time, it was reported that the Raiders fired Wilkins due to how he handled his rehab from a foot injury last year. But now sports journalist Adam Schefter confirmed on "The Pat McAfee Show,' that the sacking actually took place over a kiss. The unnamed teammate took offense to Wilkins' kiss. Bombshell report claims Christian Wilkins may have been fired over kiss with teammate "When you speak to people there, inside the locker room, they say Christian playfully went to kiss a teammate on top of his head, and those same people said that player took offense to it," Schefter said on McAfee's show. "So that's what everybody's been dancing around." Schefter also revealed that an interaction between Wilkins and one of his Raiders teammates may have isolated Wilkins further within his team. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 11 Foods That Help In Healing Knee Pain Naturally Undo "So, that's what everybody's been dancing around and tap dancing around—an incident in the locker room where he allegedly, playfully kissed a teammate on top of his head. That teammate felt offended by it. That's what a lot of this talk and speculation that people have just been floating around out there is about. Pat McAfee weighed in on the controversy too and said, "That tells me a lot of things... If that happens in the locker room, and then they go and report it [to HR], that means the locker room probably didn't f--- with him." However, it is unlikely that the awkward interaction was what led to the Raiders voiding his contract. 29-year-old Wilkins fractured his left foot during the Raiders' 34-18 loss to the Denver Broncos and was not able participate in drills during OTAs in May and was also not a part of mandatory minicamp. Wilkins' inability to cope well with the rehab was reportedly a big reason behind his sacking Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Christian Wilkins upset teammate with ‘playful kiss' before ugly $110 million Raiders split
The Raiders' abrupt release of star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins on Thursday wasn't only about his lingering foot injury, and involved an alleged incident in which he playfully tried to kiss another teammate, according to multiple reports. During a Monday appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show,' ESPN's Adam Schefter said people inside the Raiders locker room are 'tip-toeing around' the matter, described as Wilkins jokingly trying to kiss a teammate on the top of his head, and that unidentified player getting offended. Wilkins — who signed a four-year, $110 million contract, including $82.75 million guaranteed, with the Raiders last offseason — was released on Thursday with the designation of 'terminated vested veteran,' due to a conflict in his rehab process for a Jones fracture suffered last October, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson. 'With no clear path or plan for future return to play from Christian, this transaction is necessary for the entire organization to move forward and prepare for the new season.' The Raiders have yet to address any alleged locker room incident involving Wilkins. Getty Images Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said Friday that the club 'took a long time to make our decision' about Wilkins, and that they had no choice but to move on without a clear future in sight. 'This place is about competition,' Carroll, who is entering his first season with the team, said. 'It always has been. It's wide open. I'm not going to talk about any names right now. If you watch the rotations, we're giving everybody a chance. We're mixing the (starters) with the (backups) all the way throughout just to gather a bunch of information.'
