The One Show host gets huge new football job but fans aren't happy The presenter has been chosen to front up a new football show on Friday nights Kemp (right) has been named as the host of a new Sky Sports show (Image: BBC) Sky Sports has announced that The One Show presenter and former radio host Roman Kemp is set to host a brand new football show this season. ‌ Premier League Friday has been rolled out as part of Sky's increase in coverage of the English top flight for the 2025/26 season. The channel is already set to show a record minimum of 215 matches over the coming campaign, and will be home to some 80 per cent of all televised Premier League fixtures. ‌ In support of this uplift in coverage, Sky Sports News is poised to launch The Premier League Show, a brand new weekday magazine programme airing from Monday to Friday at 5pm. ‌ Sky claim: "The show will serve as the go-to destination for football fans, combining the latest news, in-depth features and expert analysis to offer a daily snapshot of all things Premier League." Kemp is set to host the Friday night version of the show, and it's safe to say Sky are excited to have him involved in the new project. "Broadcasting live from the studio every week, Roman will bring his trademark energy and passion for football to the show, while also offering a new and different point of view to Sky Sports News' storytelling." Article continues below Kemp himself said: "Football means more to me than anything. To be a part of a show like this building up to the biggest games in world football is a real privilege. "I can't wait to get going and as a fan, do this show justice." However, not everyone is excited to see Kemp involved, with a number of football fans taking to social media to express their disappointment at the decision. ‌ "Hi Sky Sports, when can we go back to having real football experts on the shows to give proper insight, instead of celebrities?," said one fan on X. "More dumbing down from Sky and the Premier League then," said another. "Most of the viewers want more shows like MNF with tactical analysis and intelligent thinking, not shows where everyone pretends to laugh endlessly to fill time." Article continues below "Sorry. Zero credibility IMO," one fan fumed. "I want to listen to experts that have played to a decent level and understand the game. "Not kids who aren't Sunday league standard. Poor." Kemp's first outing will be on Friday, August 15 ahead of Liverpool's clash with Bournemouth later that evening.
