Australian potter to showcase work at Nailsworth gallery
AN AUSTRALIAN potter is showcasing her work in Nailsworth.
Tessa Hoser is displaying a new collection at The Setting gallery in Three Storeys, from Tuesday, August 12 to Sunday, August 17.
Hoser, who is undertaking a residency at The Clay Loft, produces wheel-thrown and hand-built forms, both sculptural and utilitarian.
Her work explores the contrast between textures, clay bodies, colours and apparently perfect and imperfect forms.
She takes inspiration from her surroundings including farmland, mosses, and the rainforest near Robertson, NSW.
Her work is part of private collections in the US, UK and Australia, and has been exhibited in various locations including Canberra, Sydney and at the Warrandyte Ceramics Expo.
The exhibition is open from 8.30am to 4pm, Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm on Saturday, and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.
Hoser will be at the gallery each day from 10am to 12pm, discussing her residency, techniques and the stories behind her ceramics.
