Tom Holland supports Zendaya behind scenes at Met Gala 2025 without walking red carpet
Though Tom Holland skipped the 2025 Met Gala red carpet, he quietly supported fiancée Zendaya behind the scenes. As reported by E! News, Holland was seen at The Surrey Hotel in New York City on May 5 as Zendaya prepared for fashion's biggest night. While Zendaya stunned on the museum steps in a custom all-white Louis Vuitton suit and hat, styled by longtime collaborator Law Roach, Holland kept a low profile. The Spider-Man star was photographed leaving the hotel earlier in the day wearing a Canadian tuxedo and an orange baseball cap. Holland's absence from the event was intentional. In a January 2025 interview with Men's Health, he explained that he prefers not to share the red carpet with Zendaya so she can enjoy the spotlight. 'It's not my moment, it's her moment,' he said. 'If we go together, it's about us.' This year's gala, themed 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' raised a record amount for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. While Holland didn't attend the event, he was present in spirit—most notably through Zendaya's accessories. Alongside Bvlgari jewelry, she wore her large engagement ring, first seen at the 2025 Golden Globes. Despite public interest in their wedding plans, Roach confirmed to E! News that it won't be happening anytime soon. 'It's far away,' he said, citing both stars' busy film schedules. 'There's a lot of premieres next year so you'll see a lot of red carpets.' While Zendaya continues to dominate the Met Gala spotlight, Holland remains a supportive presence off-camera.

Celebs staying at The Surrey Hotel in NYC for famed Met Gala face protest from fired workers
Celebrities from Cardi B to Tom Cruise who are staying at a tony Manhattan hotel for the posh Met Gala will be confronted with an ugly labor dispute before walking the red carpet Monday, union bigs warn. Members of the Hotel Trade Council union say they will be holding a protest outside The Surrey Hotel, where many A-list attendees of the famed Met Museum event are staying on nearby East 76th Street. 4 Members of the Hotel Trade Council union say they will be holding a protest outside The Surrey Hotel. But nearly 100 of the hotel's workers who lost their jobs during the closure were never rehired by the new management when it reopened, a move that the trade council is blasting as a union-busting tactic. The displaced workers filed a lawsuit in March against the new ownership, claiming the loss of their jobs violated a law approved during the pandemic aimed at retaining workers, even during a change in ownership. The case is pending. The labor activists said they will make another round of calls to the celebs early Monday. The fired workers and their union are pressuring the stars 'to step off the red carpet and stand with them' by demanding The Surrey rehire them. 'I am a single mom, so my job at The Surrey means everything to me,' Coronado said in a statement to The Post. Donna McCammon, a room attendant at the hotel since 2002 before getting laid off, said, 'Losing my job at The Surrey has been one of the hardest experiences of my life. 'I am the sole breadwinner for my household, and without the steady income, it was incredibly difficult,' McCammon said. 'I went from a stable job at The Surrey that allowed me to provide for my family, to having to take a job working the overnight shift just to survive.
