New food at Target Field in 2025: Vinai, pickle pizza and more

The Twins unveiled the newest food and beverage offerings for the 2025 season ahead of Thursday's home opener at Target Field. From walleye tacos and SPAM sandwiches to boba tea and cookies, Target Field will have options for everyone. Most people come to the ballpark for a classic — the hot dog and brat. New this year, Kramarczuk's is doing a brat sampler of smaller portions with a variety of flavored meats. "I know it doesn't look like I've had a Kramarczuk's bratwurst before, but I haven't and I'll be honest with you, best thing I've had at the Taste of the Twins, all day," said Adam "Crisco" Zalusky, radio host at KS95. Target Field's main concourse will also have two new marketplace-style concession areas, where fans walk up and grab the food of their choice, from burgers, hot dogs, cheese curds, nachos and more. Then they take it to a self-serve scanner to make their purchase. Union Hmong Kitchen and Vinai owner and head chef, Yia Vang, has a new home at Target Field this year. You can find him in the Truly on Deck bar serving up sweet and sour pork. This is his fourth season partnering with the Twins, and he says he's thankful for a team that's investing back into the community. "It's always really fun when we meet people and they're like, 'We haven't been to the restaurant yet, but we tried the food at the baseball stadium,' so that means a lot. It's like an extension of our arm that has all these different reaches," Vang said. The Twins are also bringing back the Family Value Stands featuring food priced under $5. Fans who purchase tickets for Legends Landing – sections S, T, U and V) get access to an all-you-can-eat "ballpark fare experience," according to the Twins. Below is Target Field's full list of the newest food options:

Twins need trio of star hitters to stay healthy

The Twins begin their 2025 season Thursday, and success or failure will depend largely on three things: Carlos Correa's feet, Byron Buxton's back and Royce Lewis's legs. Why it matters: With waning fan interest following last season's September collapse, the Twins need a big year to put butts back in Target Field seats and eyeballs on TV broadcasts. The big picture: Despite fan frustrations over ownership spending and the TV situation, this appears to be a pretty good team. They're slight favorites to win the mediocre American League Central division, and if they can make the playoffs, the field could be wide open as no team in the AL is projected to win more than 89 games. They have a strong and deep rotation of starting pitchers and a bullpen that, if healthy, could be lights out. Yes, but: Their lineup is shaky and their top three hitters — Correa, Buxton and Lewis — are major injury concerns. They combined to play only 270 out of 486 games last year. Lewis will begin the season on the injured list with a hamstring strain. Catch up quick: This year's roster is remarkably similar to last year's. Longtime right fielder Max Kepler left for Philadelphia and they added journeyman outfielder Harrison Bader on a modest contract. Zoom out: For many fans, the more intriguing storyline of the season is not what happens on the field but in the owner's suite. The Pohlad family put the team up for sale last fall. Hopes that the deep-pocketed Ishbia brothers would buy the Twins were dashed when they chose to pursue the rival Chicago White Sox instead. A recent report in The Athletic said the team is still on the market and there's buyer interest, but that the Pohlads are holding out at a $1.7 billion price. The other side (of the river): St. Paul Saints fans should be excited about the season. They'll get to watch some of the Twins' best prospects in years, including slugger Emmanuel Rodriguez and pitchers David Festa and Zebby Matthews. A potential mid-season call-up of phenom Walker Jenkins also looms. Nick's prediction: The Twins will go 87-75 and win the division thanks to strong pitching. Their weak lineup will cause them to lose in the first round of the playoffs.

Where a Japanese food fan eats yakiniku and sushi in Hong Kong

Food and beverage consultant Henrietta Tseng just launched Yonna Yonna Gelato, a new concept from Okinawa's Yanbaru Gelato, in the The Twins mall in Kai Tak, Kowloon. She spoke to Andrew Sun. I enjoy any type of cuisine, but mostly I like to eat Japanese food for its simplicity, rawness and exquisite presentation. However, deep down, it's always about the people – the chefs and the service staff – who make me go back again and again to a place. Hong Kong restaurants that I would like to recommend include Sushi Kappo Ro Ann (16/F, Macau Yat Yuen Centre, 525 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay. Tel: 3590 8414). The executive chef, Sonoda-san, is from Kumamoto and he always brings the freshest seafood from his Japanese hometown. I also enjoy Tirpse (Shop 219, K11 Musea, Victoria Dockside, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Tel: 2333 0031), which does Japanese-French cuisine. Their chef Yuta Shimizu is young and passionate about his food.
