UFC books Uros Medic vs. 'TUF 29' runner-up Gilbert Urbina
A late addition joins UFC on ESPN 71 in Las Vegas.
Welterweights Uros Medic and Gilbert Urbina will collide at the Aug. 9 event in a three-round bout at the UFC Apex.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking Friday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
A fan-favorite striker, Medic (10-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) aims to bounce back from a January knockout loss to Puna Soriano. The defeat dropped him to 3-2 in his most recent five fights.
When Urbina (7-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) steps into the cage, it'll be his first competition since February 2024. "The Ultimate Fighter 29" middleweight runner-up lost the season final in his debut vs. Bryan Battle in 2021. His next fight came in 2023 when he defeated Orion Cosce by body kick. His most recent outing was a first-round knockout loss to Charles Radtke.
