A building that used to house TK Maxx and New Look and had been earmarked as a community space is set to be City Council's cabinet has been asked to approve plans to put the Bridge Street building on the authority bought it in August 2020 using £4.1m of Towns Fund money, with the aim of using it for a community hub known as The the council then decided it would not be economically viable to house The Vine in the building, which would have included a library, learning and cultural facilities and a commercial space.
