The Kansas City Chiefs reacted to Travis Kelce's cameo in Happy Gilmore 2 ahead of its Netflix premiere.
Newsweek reached out to Kelce's representative for comment on Monday via email outside regular working hours.
Why It Matters
Kelce joined the Chiefs in 2013 and has gone on to help the NFL team win three Super Bowls in 2020, 2023 and 2024.
In addition to football, the 35-year-old—who has been dating superstar Taylor Swift since 2023—starred in FX's Grotesquerie and is the host of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? The Ohio native also hosts a weekly sports podcast, New Heights, with his brother Jason Kelce.

Over the weekend, the Chiefs' official X account posted a video of Kelce's teammates laughing while watching an early screening of the Happy Gilmore sequel.
"The guy on the Chiefs and The Waiter in Happy Gilmore 2," the team captioned the clip. "Thanks for the early showing! Watch now on @netflix."
The caption appeared to reference Swift's hit song "Karma." The lyrics normally read "Karma is the guy on the screen," but during her Eras Tour concert in Argentina in 2023, the pop star changed them to: "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs."
In the movie, Kelce plays the role of a strict waiter who fires Bad Bunny's character.
Other cameos in the film include: Ben Stiller, Margaret Qualley, Steve Buscemi, Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings, golf icon John Daly and many more.

On the May 29, 2024, episode of New Heights, Kelce said he would "do anything" to appear in Happy Gilmore 2.
"I'll be a f****** extra," he said at the time. "Anything to get around Happy Gilmore, an Adam Sandler film or set, count me in."
The original Happy Gilmore was released in 1996, and Sandler—who starred in the both the original and the sequel—confirmed the podcast host's cameo while speaking with Jimmy Fallon.
"You know Travis Kelce really wants to be a part of this," Fallon said in an interview with Sandler on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in August. "He's talked about it on a podcast."
"Yes, yes. Travis has been—he mentioned it, and so we have a nice something for Travis," the comedian replied. "He's a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy and, well, funny and cool as hell."
"He's a stud," Fallon added, to which Sandler agreed: "He's a stud, and he's so funny."
