Walton Goggins SNAPS when asked about Aimee Lou Wood as he 'sends interview off the rails' amid 'feud' with The White Lotus co-star

Walton Goggins dramatically 'derailed' an interview four times when he was asked about his alleged feud with his White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood. The actor, 53, and actress, 31, played a couple on the HBO Max hit but have sparked speculation of a feud after fans noticed they no longer follow each other on Instagram. Adding fuel to the fire, he shut down questions about Aimee during an interview with The Times' Ed Porton, who noted the interview 'went off the rails' when he attempted to bring up his co-star. When first asked about his relationship with Amy, Walton seemed stern and replied: 'I'm not gonna have that conversation.' 'We're not going there, thank you,' added one publicist, who was sitting in on the interview, while another publicist moved on the conversation. Ed pressed once more about their friendship as he asked whether Aimee would be present when Walton hosts Saturday Night Live next week, questioning whether 'a rapprochement was looming'. Yet Walton refused to respond, prompting his publicist to jump in and suggest they talk more about his upcoming movie, The Uninvited. Ed pressed again on the subject of Aimee, to which Walton insisted: 'There is no conversation to be had about that. Sharing politics on social media — it's in a vacuum.' He made a final attempt to bring up his co-star, to which Walton snapped back: 'What the f**k, Ed! Come on buddy. Wow,' and his publicists promptly brought the interview to an end. Reports about Walton and Aimee's 'feud' intensified after Amy was left in tears over a 'cruel and unfunny' Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch. During an episode that aired last month, Amy's smile was mocked with exaggerated prosthetic teeth which Walton was caught liking a clip of online. Reacting to the video shared on SNL's social media, Walton commented, 'Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg,' though it remains unclear if he was referring to the entire sketch or the part targeting Amy. In the skit, titled The White POTUS, SNL reimagined the Trump family and various political figures on a White Lotus-style vacation. Walton's character Rick was portrayed as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., shown rambling about how they should 'take all the fluoride out of the water.' The camera then cut to Aimee's character Chelsea — played by Sarah Sherman — who appeared with exaggerated buck teeth and asked, 'Fluoride? What's that?' Aimee didn't hold back in her response as she slammed the segment for being lazy and cruel. She said: 'Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. 'Yes, take the p**s for sure — that's what the show is about — but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?' She added that she'd received 'thousands' of supportive messages from fans and her sister Emily. 'I am not thin-skinned. I actually love being taken the p**s out of when it's clever and in good spirits,' she penned. 'But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth.' 'I don't mind caricature — I understand that's what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up and I / Chelsea was the only one punched down on… Okay end of.' She ended her statement by reposting a comment from a fan who said, 'It was a sharp and funny skit until it suddenly took a screeching turn into 1970's misogyny,' with Aimee adding, 'This sums up my view.' In what many saw as a peace offering, Aimee later shared a fan drawing of her and Walton in character on The White Lotus, suggesting tensions may have cooled. The artwork was posted to her Instagram Stories with no caption — but it spoke volumes. The post came amid reports the two are expected to reunite soon for a professional obligation. Entertainment reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister shared on The Viall Files podcast that she learned 'off the record' the pair are set to 'do something professionally in the coming weeks together.' 'So, if there really is a feud, this has not stopped them… It's not like they can't be in the same room,' Wagmeister added, hinting that the rift may not be as explosive as other rumored co-star feuds, like Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. And in a surprising turn, Aimee revealed she received a heartfelt apology from SNL cast member Sarah Sherman — days after she was seen crying in London. Posting a photo of a beautiful floral arrangement to her Instagram Story, Aimee captioned it, 'Thank you for the beautiful flowers.' The White Lotus star made it clear her issue was never with Sarah personally: 'I wasn't hating on her — I was hating on the sketch.'

The White Lotus star Walton Goggins to host SNL after Aimee Lou Wood feud

Walton Goggins, star of The White Lotus , is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live next month, following what appears to be a dig at his co-star Aimee Lou Wood on social media. The actors, who portray the on-screen couple Rick and Chelsea in Season 3 of the popular HBO series The White Lotus, have been rumored to be at odds for some time. Not only do they not follow each other on Instagram, but he recently commented on an SNL sketch that was criticized for mocking the actress's teeth . However, Walton was already lined up to appear on the live sketch comedy show before the social media drama unfolded. SNL cast member Sarah Sherman played Chelsea with a heavy British accent and exaggeratedly large teeth, reports the Mirror US . In a series of Instagram stories, the Sex Education star labeled the sketch 'mean and unfunny,' and disclosed that she received 'apologies from SNL' over the offensive portrayal. Fans echoed her sentiments, criticizing SNL online for its unnecessary cruelty towards her appearance. Walton, on the other hand, seemed to find the sketch amusing. The 53 year old star took to Instagram, sharing enthusiasm for a prerecorded SNL sketch by posting the video with the caption "SMASHING," and adding: "Jon I knew I was miscast," — a nod to Jon Hamm's portrayal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Walton's character Rick in The White POTUS. Adding to the online buzz, he also left a comment on SNL's post of the sketch on Instagram, where he rolled with laughter, writing: "Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg." Some fans interpreted his comments as a sly dig at his rumored squabbles with Co-star and love interest on the show, as whispers about behind-the-scenes tensions have circulated. Jason Isaacs, known for his role as Timothy Ratliff in Season 3, has not held back on sharing his set experience, describing it playfully as "a cross between summer camp and Lord of the Flies but in a gilded cage." Despite any off-screen drama, Walton is gearing up for his first appearance on Saturday Night Live scheduled for May 10, which promises additional excitement with Arcade Fire joining as the musical guest. Speculation abounds that SNL's timing might be poking fun at Aimee Lou, but the hints are misleading, as Walton's hosting gig was set prior to the airing of the comedic parody on April 12. Walton Goggins to Make ‘SNL' Hosting Debut

Walton Goggins is ready to go live on 'SNL.' The 'The White Lotus' star and 'The Righteous Gemstones' actor will make his hosting debut May 10 with Arcade Fire as the musical guest. Goggins has had a viral 2025 already, with a slew of fandom surging after his character on 'The White Lotus' became a fan favorite. 'SNL' recently caught flack for spoofing Goggins' 'The White Lotus' co-star Aimee Lou Wood, who played Goggins' onscreen love interest. Titled 'The White POTUS,' the sketch had 'SNL' actor Sarah Sherman donning fake teeth to portray Wood. In turn, Wood deemed the skit 'mean and unfunny' and later added, 'At least get the accent right seriously, I respect accuracy even if it's mean.' She continued, 'So, to conclude today's rant: @hbo — kind and supportive and never wronged me so leave them alone. @nbcsnl — mean. Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the piss for sure — that's what the show is about — but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?' Wood announced that she received an apology from 'SNL' after the backlash. 'On a positive note, everyone is agreeing with me about it so I'm glad I said something instead of going in on myself,' she wrote. Meanwhile at the time, Goggins had captioned 'Hahahahha Amazingggg' on the video of the skit. Goggins has starred in 'Fallout' Season 2, and also led his wife Nadia Conner's narrative feature directorial debut 'The Uninvited' alongside Pedro Pascal. He previously said that being cast in 'The White Lotus' is a 'golden ticket' for actors. 'But more than that, it was just the opportunity to go on a journey that comes from that man's [creator Mike White's] imagination. Things that are interesting to him are interesting to me,' Goggins told the Daily Mail. As for the season finale, he said, 'I'm so relieved it's out in the world,' he says of that final episode. 'It's been uplifting getting to finally talk to people about it. For the first time in a long time I can exhale. A big exhale. [The character] Rick Hatchett was a lot to carry.' 'White Lotus' star's takedown of 'SNL' skit is reminder comedy 'can go too far,' cast member admits

Though it's been over a week since Aimee Lou Wood slammed "Saturday Night Live" for the "White Lotus" skit that mocked her appearance, she's now getting some support from a cast favorite. During a recent interview with Extra, "SNL" cast member Bowen Yang admitted that sometimes comedians can "go too far" and explained the importance of taking accountability. "However she reacted to that sketch is completely valid," the comedian said. "You kind of forget the sort of human, emotional cost that it sort of extols on someone. You need those reminders every now and then that parody can go too far sometimes, and that we as comedians can take account for that instead of banging our foot and saying that, like, we should be allowed to say whatever we want because that's just the culture." During the "SNL" episode earlier this month, the cast took aim at the Trump administration with a parody sketch titled, "The White POTUS." Jon Hamm portrayed Robert Kennedy, Jr., but he appeared to be dressed like Walton Goggins' character Ric in this skit. He said, "I've been having these insane ideas, like what if we took all the fluoride out of the drinking water? What would that do to people's teeth?" Sarah Sherman, who portrayed Wood's character, Chelsea, sported a brunette wig and oversized teeth for her impression and responded, "Fluoride? What's that?" The skit prompted a response from Wood, who said she felt the spoof was "mean." "But whilst in honest mode – I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny xo," she wrote on social media before adding, "Felt righteous might delete later X." "So to conclude today's rant: @hbo - kind and supportive and never wronged me so leave them alone, @nbcsnl - mean," she added. "Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago. Yes, take the piss for sure – that's what the show is about - but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?" Following the skit, Wood told her Instagram followers that the show had apologized for the mishap. "I've had apologies from SNL," she wrote before sharing behind-the-scenes clips from Mike White's series. She even gave a public shutout to Sherman. "Thank you for the beautiful flowers @sarahsquirm," Wood captioned a photo on her Instagram story, which featured a spring-themed bouquet.

Bowen Yang Responded To Aimee Lou Wood's Criticism Of The "SNL" Parody Of "The White Lotus"

It's been a week since SNL's controversial parody of The White Lotus aired, but it's still dominating the pop cultural conversation. Brief recap: During last week's Jon Hamm-hosted episode, the long-running sketch show aired a White Lotus parody called "The White POTUS." (Subtlety has never been this show's strong suit.) Part of the parody involved cast member Sarah Sherman portraying a character that resembled White Lotus cast member Aimee Lou Wood. When Jon Hamm-as-RFK Jr. made a reference to taking fluoride out of drinking water, Sarah's character replied through huge fake teeth, "Fluoride? What's that?" Aimee was not happy. She took to her IG Story the day after SNL aired to call the portrayal "mean and unfunny," and later claimed that SNL had offered her an apology (which, for what it's worth, there seems to be conflicting reports on). The backlash more or less stretched across a good part of the last week. Aimee's White Lotus costar Walton Goggins was somehow brought into it, and she also had to issue a new statement after paparazzi photos of her crying made the rounds. Sarah sent her flowers as a peace offering, too. Now, SNL star Bowen Yang is addressing the controversy — and it sounds like there's no real bad blood between the show and Aimee (at least, not on SNL's end). 'However she reacted to that sketch is completely valid,' he said in an interview with Extra. 'With parody, you kind of forget the sort of human, emotional cost that it sort of extols on someone.' 'Everyone at SNL is just a fan of the show, obviously a fan of her. We just think that she should be so proud of the work that she put into the season, it was just water cooler television again that we desperately have a craving for. I feel like it's this thing that we tend to forget sometimes and this is a reminder and it seems like she has spoken to people at the show about it and hopefully there's room to sort of move on from it.' Bowen also specified that the entire kerfluffle serves as a reminder to SNL's writers that sometimes their work has an impact that they don't quite expect. 'You need those reminders every now and then that parody can go too far sometimes and that we, as comedians, can take account for that instead of banging our foot and saying that we should be able to say whatever we want,' he said. 'That's just culture, it's not PC or woke culture, it's just culture.' Maybe this'll be the last of this see!
