2nd-degree murder charge laid in death of man in west Edmonton last week

Police have charged a man with murder in connection with a suspicious death last week.
On Friday, Edmonton Police Service officers were called to a dispute at 81 Avenue and Briarwynd Court at 12:15 a.m.
When they arrived, a man was found in medical distress.
Despite life-saving attempts by emergency medical services members, the man died at the scene.
Damien Ward, 35, was arrested the same day and charged with second-degree murder.
An autopsy on Tuesday found the victim, Theoren Ermineskin, 33, died of blunt force injuries.
Police say the victim and the accused knew each other.
