Karki's plot overview
The story centres on Muthathi Mutturaj (Jai Prakash Reddy), affectionately known as Muthu, a young man from a rural, lower-caste background. Inspired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Muthu dreams of becoming a lawyer to advocate for marginalised communities. He secures a seat in a law college in the city. At college, Muthu befriends Jyothi Mahalakshmi (Meenakshi Dinesh), an upper-caste student who assists him in learning English.
Their friendship deepens, and she invites him to her sister's lavish wedding. However, societal pressures surface when her father's concern for their safety highlights the risks posed by their friendship in a caste-conscious society. The relationship faces challenges as caste-based prejudices lead to tragic events, including the loss of Muthu's beloved dog, Karki.
