Chilling moment evil killer wipes bloody nose after stabbing man, 19, to death in street brawl before he fled UK
CHILLING footage shows the moment an evil killer wiped his bloody nose after stabbing a 19-year-old to death in a street brawl. Thomas Dures, 21, will serve a minimum of 23 years in prison after killing Matthew Daulby, following a trial at Preston Crown Court. 4 4 4 4 Daulby was knifed in the chest by Dures after two groups clashed outside Alpine Bar in Ormskirk, Lancashire, on July 29, 2023. The teenager was found with serious injuries by police, who were called to Railway Road shortly after midnight, said cops. Daulby was taken to hospital where he later died and a post-mortem examination found he was killed by a single stab wound to the chest. Dures also stabbed two other men during the altercation, before fleeing the scene after hearing the sirens of an approaching police car, jurors were told. Now, harrowing CCTV footage from the night has emerged showing a bloodied Dures walking down the road in a BOSS t-shirt and blue jacket shortly after murdering Daulby. Dures is seen to wipe blood from his face as he walks down the town centre road. Another camera then captures him quickly walking along a pavement without his blue jacket. After disposing of his jacket, he washed his face in the Railway pub before taking a taxi to home and then travelling to a friend's house at around 3am, the court heard. It was there that he apparently first learned that the brawl had resulted in serious injuries, having told jurors from the witness box: "I didn't believe it. I didn't think anyone was seriously injured, because I clearly seen everyone was able to run away." Dures, of no fixed address but formerly of Whalley Drive, Aughton, sent voice notes to his friends before leaving the area in a taxi. Dures, who eventually handed himself in at a police station in Greece after 18 months on the run, was found guilty of murder, the court heard. Man in his 30s dies after being stabbed outside casino on posh London street Jurors heard that Matthew travelled to the Ormskirk area with friends on the evening of July 29, 2023, after receiving a message in a group chat which stated that one of their friends, who was alone and on crutches, had been punched three times by Dures. This led to a confrontation near Alpine Bar on Railway Road. Prior to the fight, CCTV footage played to the jury during the trial showed Dures and his associate Henry Houghton lurking in an alleyway. Shortly afterwards, Dures is seen striding towards a group, including Daulby, brandishing a knife. Houghton struck Matthew over the head with a makeshift weapon, consisting of a rock stuffed into a sports sock, during the ensuing melee. The 19-year-old suffered damage to his skull and frontal lobe during the incident, although this injury was not fatal. However, Dures then delivered the deadly blow to the chest with a knife he had been carrying all night. Matthew managed to leave the scene of the fight but collapsed on nearby Moorgate, later being pronounced dead at Aintree Hospital in the early hours of July 30. Houghton, of Scarisbrick, was jailed last year for a minimum of 20 years for his role in Mr Daulby's murder. Detective Chief Inspector Andy Fallows said the family had had a "long and arduous wait for justice". "Tomorrow marks two years since Matthew was unlawfully taken from them, and the Daulby family have had to wait patiently for the man responsible for delivering the fatal injury to answer for his crimes. "Thomas Dures came back to the UK with the intent of getting in the dock and telling a catalogue of lies.

‘Cowardly' knife killer who fled to Greece jailed for life
A 'cowardly' killer who smirked as his victim's mother told a court of her heartbreak over her son's murder has been jailed for life. Thomas Dures, 21, fled to Greece after stabbing Matthew Daulby, 19, with a lock knife, outside a bar in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Mr Daulby, from Liverpool, died at Aintree Hospital, shortly after the attack on July 29 2023. It meant his family had to endure two murder trials after an accomplice, Henry Houghton was convicted for the murder last year, before Dures eventually handed himself in to police in Athens and was convicted last week. But as Angela Daulby gave a moving victim impact statement at Preston Crown Court on Monday, Judge Robert Altham watched her son's killer misbehave. Jailing him for a mandatory life sentence for murder with a minimum of 23 years before parole, Judge Altham said Dures's 'cowardly' actions had resulted in his victim's parents enduring the two murder trials. He continued: 'You have never shown the slightest remorse. You smirked and shook your head as his mother read her statement. 'Having murdered Matthew Daulby you now seek to heap further misery on his family.' Earlier Mrs Daulby told the court her son, who she described as 'loving and caring', had a happy, contented life and was looking forward to his first holiday in Ibiza. After a family meal he had gone out with his girlfriend and friends for a Friday night out in Ormskirk. But she and her husband Gary Daulby were then called to Aintree Hospital. 'No parent should hear those words, 'We did everything we could',' Mrs Daulby said. 'No parent should have to bury their child, it leaves you with pain I can't even explain. 'What I would give to hear his voice again and have one more cuddle. You broke my heart. You have given us a life sentence of grief.' Mr Daulby said in his statement he was 'haunted' by the memory of his son's final moments and felt 'crushed' by the emotional toll of losing him. Dures, from Aughton, Lancashire, along with Houghton lurked in an alleyway before charging Matthew Daulby and his friends from behind. Houghton struck Mr Daulby with a cosh, a tied up sock containing a rock, before Dures, armed with a lock knife, plunged the blade into his victim's chest up to the hilt. He discarded the weapon and his bloody clothes, took a selfie of him smoking a cannabis joint and fled the UK the next day. Dures was also found guilty of wounding with intent to another man, during the murder trial ending last week. Henry Houghton, of Scarisbrick, Lancashire, was sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in March last year for his role in Matthew Daulby's murder. Outside court Det Chief Insp Andy Fallows, from Lancashire Police, said: 'I welcome today's sentence which brings to an end the Daulby family's long and arduous wait for justice. 'Tomorrow marks two years since Matthew was unlawfully taken from them. 'And the Daulby family have had to wait patiently for the man responsible for delivering the fatal injury to answer for his crimes. 'They have had to figure out a way to try and grieve, knowing the man responsible to taking their son's life was actively evading justice, and celebrating his 21st birthday in the sun. Something Matthew will never be able to do. 'Thomas Dures came back to the UK with the intent of getting in the dock and telling a catalogue of lies. He pointed the finger of blame at everybody but himself and took no accountability for his actions. 'Thankfully the jury saw through his lies and ensured that Dures will be held accountable for his crimes. 'I'd like to thank my investigation team for everything they have done in securing this conviction, the Crown Prosecution Service and our KC, Peter Glenser and junior counsel Katy Appleton. 'I would also like to thank the public and the media for all the witness appeals they shared, and their help in keeping this case in the spotlight. 'I have no doubt that it kept the pressure up and played no small part in Dures taking the decision to hand himself in.'

Murderer's supporters 'removed from court' for 'screaming and shouting'
A murderer's supporters were 'removed from court' after some shouted "they're all corrupt" and "may God have mercy on them" after he was convicted. Thomas Dures, 21, fled the country hours after he stabbed his teenage victim Matthew Daulby to death during a brawl in Ormskirk, the Liverpool Echo reportes. Dures was convicted of murder and wounding with intent this week following a trial at Preston Crown Court. They were reported to have made comments including "they're all corrupt, the whole place is corrupt, everybody is corrupt". One was heard to say "may God have mercy on them". Jurors previously heard Mr Daulby travelled to the Ormskirk area with friends on the evening of July 29, 2023 after receiving a message in a group chat, named "M.R.S", which stated that one of their number, who was alone and on crutches, had been punched three times by Dures. This led to a confrontation near to Alpine Bar on Railway Road, with the defendant having been present at the premises with his associate Henry Houghton earlier in the evening. The latter would strike Mr Daulby over the head with a makeshift weapon, consisting of a rock stuffed into a sports sock, during the ensuing melee. The 19-year-old suffered damage to his skull and frontal lobe during the incident, although this injury was not fatal of itself. But Dures, of Whalley Drive in Aughton, West Lancashire, then delivered the deadly blow to the chest with a knife which he had been carrying all night, having alleged that he was minding the weapon on behalf of Houghton. Mr Daulby managed to leave the scene of the fight but collapsed on nearby Moorgate, later being pronounced dead at Aintree Hospital in the early hours of July 30. Dures also stabbed two other men during the altercation before fleeing. He discarded his jacket in a nearby park in the aftermath and handed his man bag to a friend. Having washed his face in the Railway pub and disposed of the knife in an alleyway, he then took a taxi home before travelling to a friend's home at around 3am. It was there that he apparently first learned that the brawl had resulted in serious injuries, having told jurors from the witness box: "I didn't believe it. I didn't think anyone was seriously injured, because I clearly seen everyone was able to run away." Following posts on Facebook which reported Mr Daulby's death, he was collected from the Plough Inn pub by an unknown driver and taken to Kent. He thereafter travelled via the Channel Tunnel to Austria, took a coach to southern Italy and boarded a ferry to Greece. Asked why he had absconded to Europe, Dures said in his evidence: "I was scared of going to prison. There was a £10,000 bounty on my head. I was scared to come back." Join our Court and Crime WhatsApp group HERE Dures remained in Athens until December last year, when he handed himself in at a police station before being extradited back to the UK. In the intervening period, Houghton, of Barrison Green in Scarisbrick, was handed a life sentence imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years behind bars for Mr Daulby's murder. Following his conviction, Dures will now be sentenced on Monday next week. Detective Chief Inspector Andy Fallows, from Lancashire Police's major investigation team, saying following Thursday's verdict: "After two long years, the man responsible for fatally stabbing Matthew Daulby has finally been brought to justice. "This has been two years of pain and frustration, in which the Daulbys have had so many unanswered questions. They have had to figure out a way to try and grieve, knowing the man responsible to taking their son's life before it had really started was actively evading justice and celebrating his 21st birthday in the sun, something Matthew will never be able to do. "I'd like to thank my investigation team for everything they have done in securing this conviction, the Crown Prosecution Service and our KC, Peter Glenser, and junior counsel Katy Appleton. "I would also like to thank the public and the media for all the witness appeals they shared and their help in keeping this case in the spotlight."
