Centre, BJP should accept Pahalgam failure and take corrective steps instead of spreading fake narratives, says Kanimozhi

Thoothukudi Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi on Tuesday called upon the BJP-led Union Government to identify and correct its failures in the best interests of the country's security after the Pahalgam terror attack instead of spreading false narratives about the incident for extracting political mileage. During an informal chat with reporters after handing over financial assistance to three entrepreneurs here, she said the Centre and the BJP were deliberately politicising the gruesome killing of 26 people by terrorists at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to bury the miserable failure of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government and to get political mileage. They should realise that such false narratives would push the country towards disaster. The Centre should accept its failure and take corrective measures if it was really concerned about the security of the country. If Mr. Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh preferred to go ahead with the dangerously fake theories to hide their failures, it would seriously compromise the nation's security. 'Unfortunately, their narratives are being purposely propagated with the ulterior motive of gaining political mileage from this terror attack which will seriously jeopardise India's security and the people's safety. Instead of understanding it, the terror attack is being politicised,' Ms. Kanimozhi said. The MP handed over assistance of ₹2 lakh each under her 'Puththozhil Kalam' initiative, launched to help young entrepreneurs realise their dream of starting their business. Of the 400 applications, three proposals had been selected for receiving the assistance. 'In the second and third phases, the remaining ₹8 lakh each will be given to these three entrepreneurs. Forty applicants reached the final stage of scrutiny of 'Puththozhil Kalam' initiative. The remaining 37 will be given assistance either through the government or by facilitating disbursal of loans by the banks,' she added.
