Bad Bunny's surprise track, 'Alambre Púa' came in second place in the poll. Taking inspiration from the 90s banger 'Toma Que Toma,' DANNA explained in a press released how her take on the song came about. 'I was at one of my favorite clubs in Mexico City, having an incredible night. The DJ was mixing several songs with a 'hot' vibe, and it was really warm in the venue,' she said. 'Suddenly, 'Toma que toma' started playing, and the vision immediately came to me. I remembered it's one of my all-time favorite songs and that I used to dance to it a lot as a kid. So, I recorded a voice note — and months later, in the studio, I remembered that voice note and that's how 'Khe Calor' came to life.' High-tech toilets land in downtown Detroit
Downtown welcomed two high-tech public bathrooms last week as part of a pilot project prioritizing cleanliness and more luxurious, free facilities. Why it matters: Finding a clean, accessible public toilet downtown can be a hassle, since businesses often restrict use of their private restrooms. State of play: Throne Labs, out of Washington D.C., worked with the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) to install two of the company's bathrooms in Cadillac Square. They have flushing toilets, running water sinks, decorative wallpaper and baby changing stations. What they're saying: The new Thrones will help raise the bar for downtown's public restrooms, Eric Larson, CEO of the DDP, said in a statement. "From food truck festivals to fitness classes, access to clean, safe restrooms is a key part of creating a welcoming environment." Throne is providing and servicing the bathrooms at no cost to the DDP during the pilot, Larson tells Axios. 🧻 Joe's thought bubble: My recent Throne visit was a success. The facilities were spotless and easy to use. I scanned the QR code on the door and was prompted to send a text. The door automatically opened right after pressing send. The toilet flushed with the appropriate strength and the faucet worked perfectly. How it works: Each bathroom has 21 sensors that track cleanliness and usage. Thrones use solar power and don't need a water or sewer line. Cleaning teams monitor sensor data and user feedback to prioritize their operations, Throne COO Jessica Heinzelman tells Axios. "That's one of the biggest selling points — we are able to keep it nice," she says. Users are given an anonymous ID and their data is only used for Throne's internal operations, Heinzelman says. For those without phones, Throne works with its partner cities to provide entry cards. Zoom out: Detroit's the third Michigan city to try Throne, joining Ann Arbor and Royal Oak. In D.C., the program is on hold due to funding issues, upsetting neighborhood organizations and public officials. If you go: Detroit's toilets are open 24 hours a day. What's next: The DDP and Throne will collect data and community feedback through mid-August to decide whether to continue the pilot.

Patrick Mahomes is investing in his love for coffee — and isn't thrilled about an 18-game season
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has added "coffee entrepreneur" to his already packed resume. The three-time Super Bowl champion has invested in Throne Sport Coffee, adding to the 29-year-old superstar's portfolio off the field. As his Chiefs and the rest of the NFL gear up for the upcoming season, Mahomes spoke to CNBC about his interest in coffee, his growing investment portfolio in sports properties, stadium politics in Kansas City and his take on an 18-game NFL season. Mahomes became the second largest investor in Throne Sport Coffee in May 2024, with an undisclosed stake. Today, he's not only an investor, but also the brand's lead pitchman and product tester — and a daily drinker. "It actually started in my first year in the NFL," Mahomes told CNBC of his coffee habit. "I was in a lot of meetings, and coffee became a functional need. But then I started to really love it, especially black coffee." When CEO, founder and beverage industry veteran Mike Fedele approached him with a ready-to-drink option designed to be a healthier caffeine boost, he said it felt like a natural fit for him. "I really fell in love with just the taste and trying to make sure that what I was putting into my body was good," he said. Fedele, who has worked with major brands like Coca-Cola and BodyArmor, said Throne stands out because it has 10 grams of protein and 40% less sugar than competitors. Throne coffee has about 50 calories in it with 1 gram of sugar. For comparison, a ready-to-drink Starbucks Frappuccino can have as many as 300 calories and 47 grams of sugar. "Given how frequently people that care about what they're putting into their bodies consume coffee, I felt there needed to be a better for you option," he said. Mahomes said his daily caffeine habit includes three coffees a day: one when he wakes up, another before meetings, and a third ahead of afternoon prep. "It's probably too much," he laughed, "but with Throne, I know I'm putting something clean in my body, no junk, no sugar, and added electrolytes, and B vitamins." On game days? He said he tones it down to just one or two. The ready-to-drink coffee market is a rapidly growing category. Americans spent $17.7 billion on the category in 2023, according to Technomic. Despite its growth prospects, Throne is competing in a crowded coffee space, with coffee shop competitors rounding out their ready-to-drink offering. Starbucks announced this week that it is expanding its ready-to-drink lineup, citing the latest consumer trends and growth of the category. Throne is just one part of Mahomes' growing investment portfolio. The three-time Super Bowl MVP also holds minority stakes in MLB's Kansas City Royals, Sporting Kansas City of the MLS and the NWSL's KC Current, along with Alpine F1. "I love sports. I love how they bring people together: families, communities. That's what I want to invest in," Mahomes said. So does that mean he's eyeing a future ownership stake in the Chiefs? "That would be cool," he said. "Hopefully a long time from now, but yeah, I'd love to be a part of the team after I'm done playing. They've done so much for me." The Chiefs' stadium future is still undecided, as the franchise is deciding whether to renovate Arrowhead Stadium or build a new stadium in Kansas. Mahomes didn't say where he would prefer the team to play. "Arrowhead is special. You feel the history. But wherever we play, the fans will show up," he said. The Chiefs were recently granted a one-year extension to make a decision on their future stadium. On leaguewide issues, Mahomes said he's cautious about proposals for an 18-game NFL season and international expansion, including the Chiefs' Week 1 game in Brazil. "More games are tough on the body. If we're going to go to 18, we need more bye weeks. Same with international games, planning matters."

D.C. stalls popular public bathroom program amid funding cuts
D.C.'s popular public bathroom program is on hold — and people are pissed. Driving the news: Throne, the startup behind a fleet of luxe loos, shut down its six free toilets on July 5 after the city let its contract lapse over funding issues. City officials say they've identified funding to keep the bathrooms running through September, but they gave no timeline for reopening them. Why it matters: D.C. is desperate for bathrooms, especially with massive events for America's 250th birthday and beyond. Catch up quick: Throne launched 18 potties in DMV in 2024 — all free, mobile, ADA-compliant, and equipped with baby stations, sinks, AC and menstrual products. So yes, popular — D.C. Thrones attracted around 71,000 visitors between the start of the pilot and May. The city used six in a pilot program for high-traffic areas like Dupont Circle, Eastern Market and near the Mall. The latest: City officials told the Washington Post that Throne's funding was wiped after the congressional GOP spending bill slashed $1 billion from D.C.'s budget and forced the city to terminate contracts. Yes, but: The mayor's office seemingly reversed its decision after pushback from neighborhood organizations and public officials. A petition to reopen Thrones garnered more than 740 signatures. As one Throne supporter told Axios: "There's nothing like the wrath of someone approaching a bathroom and finding it closed." Zoom in: The D.C. Council is helping fund 10 Thrones in the new fiscal year, Councilmember Brianne Nadeau tells Axios. Nadeau, who championed the program as chair of the Committee on Public Works, says it's still unclear why the contract lapsed. Multiple committees pitched in for the pilot in FY26, she says, and council members sponsored their own, covering new Thrones in Wards 7, 8 and 1. Claims that Throne funding will cost Public Works jobs are "completely inaccurate," Nadeau tells Axios. What they're saying: "Ultimately, this is really scalable. They're easy to use, easy to place, people love them," Nadeau tells Axios. Her next step: Introducing legislation to make the pilot permanent.

Keningau students wins Ocean Conservation Creative Contest
Published on: Monday, June 30, 2025 Published on: Mon, Jun 30, 2025 By: Johan Aziz Text Size: Keningau Students Won Ocean Conservation Creative Competition. KENINGAU: A team of Cosmetology students from Keningau Vocational College (KVC) has been chosen as the champion of the handicraft category in the 2025 International Ocean Conservation Creative Competition for the youth age group. The results of the competition, organised by the International Youth and Children's Education Association, were officially announced on June 13 this year on its website. The team consists of three final-year students: Bevanny Adelia Benedict, Annyss Anastacia Francis George and Nur Nadia Natasya Ahmad Zainul Ariffin. Their project is a stool chair made from recycled materials designed to allow beauticians to perform pedicures outdoors. The bench chair was made from plastic bottles filled with old newspapers and plastic bags, tightly bound and reinforced with discarded items such as wood panels, wires, and used clothing. The stool also includes a compartment for storing tools required for foot treatments. They named the chair 'Elegant Throne' to symbolise the importance of creativity and aesthetic elements in creating practical products using recycled materials. The project's concept aligned with the theme of the competition, which is ocean conservation, as plastic waste is one of the main threats to marine life in saltwater and to animals that rely on ocean habitats. The team leader, Bevanny Adelia, stated that the project has the potential to become a social enterprise that can have a positive impact on the environment and the community. The college director, Lumang anak Lang, expressed immense pride in the students' achievement, noting that the project not only required creativity but also needed to be designed with careful consideration of the materials used, specifically waste materials. He emphasised that vocational college education always prioritises the application of vocational skills and knowledge in innovation. Their competition video can be accessed at:
