Thunderdog will welcome customers after opening its doors on Byres Road in the west end. The new site also comes from the team behind the beloved Buck's Bar. In a post on Thundercat's Instagram, bosses revealed the exact date the venue will be opening. The caption read: "We've got a new member of the family. "Thunderdog launching in Glasgow's West End on Friday, May 30. "Book your table online now." Punters were left buzzing about the announcement and flocked to the comments. One person said: "This is very exciting." Another wrote: "The best news ever." A third added: "Buzzing!" Gok Wan opens table-less restaurant where diners are served their food from the floor While a fourth commented: "We're booked!" The new venue on Byres Road is in the space once occupied by Rum Bongo. Staff previously hailed the site as their largest venue yet with 120 covers inside and 40 outside. The diner also has a late license and will be open until 1am with DJ sets from Thursday to Sunday. The menu is set to feature many Thundercat favourites including Chicago-style deep dish pizzas, smash burgers and chilli dogs. And unique to the new ThunderDog venue is the buttermilk fried chicken dogs - inspired by Buck's Bar's chicken burger menu. The team aims to keep prices low, with drinks deals from £3 and pints from £4.50. Main meals will start from £8.50.
