Tennis Wales serves up funding to Gwent projects
The support comes from Tennis Wales' Tie-Break Fund, which backs community-led schemes that use tennis and padel to improve lives, with a particular focus on disability inclusion.
This year's recipients include clubs, community groups, and coaches delivering programmes for disabled children, older adults, ethnic minority communities, women, and LGBTQ+ groups.
Among those benefitting from investment are Age Connect Torfaen, Newport Live, SixBells Park Community Tennis Club in Abertillery and Caerphilly LTC.
Stuart Baker, national development manager at Tennis Wales, said: "We're thrilled to reveal this year's funding recipients.
"The projects reflect the energy and passion for tennis and padel right across Wales.
"From community-led initiatives to innovative youth programmes, these investments create new opportunities and open up the game to more people than ever before."
Among those awarded funding are Chinese in Wales Association, Dowlais Community Centre, Black Tennis Mentors UK CIC, and Special Olympics Cymru Wales.
Other recipients include Cardiff Baseliners, U3A Wrexham, InclusAbility CIC, and Grange Pavilion.
Mr Baker thanked those who made the fund possible.
He said: "None of this would be possible without the continued support of our funding partners and sponsors here in Wales."
