Battle of the Badges blood drive returns
NORFOLK, Neb. (KCAU) — The Norfolk Police and Fire Divisions are back and ready to compete again to help the American Red Cross on Thursday, June 19, at Fire Station 1 in Norfolk. Fire Chief Tim Wragge said, 'This drive will once again include a friendly competition between Police and Fire to see who can bring in the most donors,' in a press release. Wragge also emphasized the importance of the Red Cross's mission. According to the release, the key characteristics for someone wanting to donate are: good health, at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and want to potentially save up to three lives with a single pint of blood. NORFOLK, Neb. (KCAU) — The City of Norfolk is urging potential blood donors to register for the annual 'Battle of the Badges' blood drive. The annual blood drive helps save lives by getting blood to those in need while also serving as a friendly competition between the fire and police departments. South Sioux City Fire Department has new way to notify drivers during emergencies When donating during the Battle of the Badges, donors choose of the two groups as part of the competition. 'We are looking forward to hosting a successful blood drive here at Fire Station 1. This drive will again include friendly competition between Police and Fire to see who can get the most donors. The mission of the Red Cross is extremely important, and we hope you will join us in giving the gift of life on February 27,' said Norfolk Fire Chief Tim Wragge. They are looking for all blood types. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and come with the desire to save a few lives along the way.
