Times News Network Kanpur: Cyber fraudsters targeted a city businessman duping him of Rs 39.25 lakh in the name of hefty profits in the stock market. Realising that he has been scammed, the victim filed a report at the cyber police station. The fraudsters had transferred the swindled amount into 17 different accounts. The cyber police team is corresponding with the respective banks to freeze these accounts. Abhishek Dixit, a resident of Shivli Saketnagar in Kanpur Dehat, lives with his family on Old Shivli Road. He said that he received a call on his mobile a few days ago. The caller promised substantial profits by investing in the stock market. Upon agreeing, the fraudsters sent him a link on Telegram, claiming it would lead to extra earnings through stock market investments. The link it opened into a portal resembling a stock market screen where Abhishek was asked to register. Initially, he invested Rs 50,000 and he was shown a profit of Rs 12,000. Trusting this, he invested Rs 39.25 lakh. However, when he tried to withdraw the principal amount and profit, the fraudsters demanded more money to release the funds. When he refused, they blocked him, and the portal became inaccessible. Cyber police station in-charge Sunil Verma stated that the investigations are underway and the fraudsters will soon be nabbed.

Times News NetworkKanpur: The city will soon get 15 grounds for futsal and box cricket at different locations. According to the Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) sources, construction work for four futsal grounds has already started while work at the remaining 12 places would commence next week. The municipal commissioner Sudhir Kumar stated that the cost of one futsal ground was around Rs 15 lakh and all grounds would be ready for use within one encourage sports and sports activities in the city, futsal grounds have been raised at Shastri Nagar and Babupurwa, said the municipal commissioner, adding that the sites for the remaining grounds have been identified and soon work would start there. On average, around Rs 15 lakhs would be spent on one grounds would be operated on the PPP model and facilities would be of international level. For coaching of 6 to 14 years children, the fee has been fixed as Rs 500 per month, Rs 700 per hour for cricket matches and Rs 900 per hour for night matches. Similarly, for tournaments, Rs 2,000 per day for four hours, and in the night Rs 3,000 for every four hours per municipal commissioner stated that futsal grounds would be raised at Ram Lila Park Raipurwa (zone-1), ward 62, ward 72 and Ram Gopal Crossing Park (zone 2), Ram Lila Park Vasant Vihar, ward 36 and 38 (zone 3), ward 7, Charan Singh Colony Park, ward 45, Durga Mandir Park Barra-8 and ward 57, Panki Anjani Park.
