Mom donates daughter's pony to zoo — so that it can be devoured by lions: ‘Nothing goes to waste'
Hold your horses. A Danish woman donated her daughter's pet pony to Zoo in Denmark — so it could be eaten by lions. Pernille Sohl reportedly donated her teenage daughter Angelina's German riding pony, Chicago 57, to the Aalborg Zoo in the country's northern region. Zookeepers have said they're hoping to mimic the natural food chain of predators by feeding them smaller donated pets. 'It might sound very dramatic and bizarre that you would feed your pet to animals in the zoo,' Sohl, 44, told the Times UK. 'But they are going to be put down anyway and it is not like they are alive when they are given to the predators.' Aalborg Zoo has asked for donations of 'a healthy animal that needs to be given away for various reasons' — including guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens — to be 'gently euthanized' before being used as a meal, the facility said in a Facebook post. 'In zoos we have a responsibility to imitate the natural food chain of the animals — in terms of both animal welfare and professional integrity,' it added. Horses will also be accepted — and euthanized and slaughtered — by the zoo, with owners eligible for a tax deduction, Aalborg Zoo added on its website. '[N]othing goes to waste — and we ensure natural behavior, nutrition and well-being of our predators,' the zoo wrote on Facebook. 4 Aalborg Zoo houses three carnivorous and dangerous species: Asiatic lions, polar bears, and the Sumatran tiger. Gunnar E Nilsen – Sohl said that her daughter's pony was donated after it was euthanized due to pain from a long-term health struggle in 2020. Chicago 7 was suffering from a form of eczema brought about by mosquito bites that became irritated in the summer and lead to open wounds that risked infection. He had to wear a jacket and leg protection toward the end of his life and was 22 when he died. Angelina was just 13 at the time of her beloved pony's death — and Sohl gave her the choice on whether or not to donate the body to the zoo. 'I gave Angelina the various options and she chose the one with the zoo, because it made the most sense,' Sohl explained. 'She wanted to follow the food chain. She wanted Chicago 57 to benefit other animals.' 4 Horses are accepted as a donation — and euthanized and slaughtered — by the zoo, with owners eligible for a tax deduction. William – Sohl — who runs a small farm in Denmark that allows children with mental health issues to spend time with horses — had the Aalborg Zoo euthanize Chicago 57, and she was there for the procedure. 'There was a zookeeper standing there cuddling and kissing him — as if it was me standing with him,' she said. After the euthanasia, Sohl was informed that Chicago 57's body would be fed to lions. 4 The zoo in northern Denmark is hoping to mimic the natural food chain of predators by feeding them smaller donated Zoo houses three carnivorous and dangerous species: Asiatic lions, polar bears, and the Sumatran tiger, per its website. Sohl was so impressed with the process that she tried to bring another horse that had died to Aalborg last year, but was turned down because the horse was taller than the maximum height required for his body to fit in the zoo's refrigerator. His remains were instead repurposed as dog food. The zoo has received global backlash in the past few weeks after its Facebook post requesting small animal donations went viral. 4 Sohl runs a small farm in Denmark that allows children with mental health issues to spend time with horses. The Times reported that cats and dogs are not accepted as donations for the animals.

Sydney Sweeney appeared ‘annoyed' and ‘uncomfortable' according to ‘The Times' article
They say all publicity is good publicity, and Sydney Sweeney is a walking example of this as one of the most talked about and in-demand stars in Hollywood right now. 'But who is Sydney Sweeney really?' The Times UK writer Megan Agnew questions at the beginning of an insightful profile piece about the 27-year-old actress published on Sunday. The publication has attempted to crack the veneer of the headline-magnet that is Sweeney, who shot to fame in Euphoria before swiftly becoming a bona fide pop culture sex symbol and a shrewd businesswoman as the founder of her own production company. In the Times ' 50-minute interview with Sweeney, which took place back in April (prior to Sweeney being engulfed in the ongoing PR storm surrounding her American Eagle denim ad) – Agnew admits drawing meaningful insights from the star is 'hard work'. 'Sweeney was early to our interview by an hour (unheard of) when I met her in a Hollywood photo studio. I was thrilled — until I realised it was a reflection of her keenness to leave rather than her enthusiasm to arrive,' Agnew writes. What soon unravels in the article is a description of Sweeney that paints her both as a hungry go-getter 'keen to make money', and a cautious approach so as not to say anything too contentious. At times, Agnew writes Sweeney is visibly uncomfortable and regularly seeking assurance from her two publicists – even before her latest, loudest controversy. 'A petite 5ft 3in, she sat with her legs folded, fidgeting with little boxes of make-up and often talking to her publicists on the other side of the room. She pulled as far back from me as she could,' Agnew writes. 'I could feel the height of her fresh fame acutely, her words put so carefully one in front of the other that it sometimes felt she was doing everything she could to sound boring.' Agnew points heavily to the media furore surrounding Sweeney's American Eagle denim ad, which faced backlash over claims it pushed 'eugenics' and 'White supremacy' messaging. Sweeney was subsequently identified as a registered Republican in Florida as of June last year. The Anyone But You star previously come under question for her political stance after sharing photos of her mother's 60th birthday celebrations in 2022, in which guests wore 'Make sixty great again' caps in reference to President Donald Trump's election slogan. Agnew suspects the backlash Sweeney has faced to date was the reason for her 'wariness' in the interview. 'In fact, she exhibited such discomfort about being there for the 50 minutes — in order to promote a new movie as well as a number of brands — that it verged on annoyance,' Agnew writes. Elsewhere in the chat, Sweeney talks about her love of real estate, her property portfolio and collection of luxury cars. 'Each property has its own vibe,' she told the Times. 'So it needs its own cars to go with the vibe.' Agnew notes Sweeney quickly paused, before shooting a look to her two publicists in the room. 'I suspect Sweeney knew all too well, even then, the consequences of saying anything that meant very much at all,' Agnew observes. Sweeney later admitted to being uncomfortable with fame. 'Privacy [is] huge,' she said. 'You don't realise how much that means until you lose it. I see all the time, 'Oh, they sold themselves, they knew what they were signing up for'. But 18-year-old me had no idea what she was signing up for. 'I've always been guarded. Definitely more so now. You let few people in who you trust.' She said her work ethic, and desire to be financially independent, stemmed from her humble upbringing, in which her hardworking parents moved from Washington to Hollywood heartland, Burbank, so Sweeney could pursue her acting career. The trio, along with Sweeney's younger brother Trent, lived in a modest one-bedroom flat. 'We were sharing a one-bedroom hotel room — no kitchen, no balcony,' Sweeney remembered. 'A pullout sofa bed, where my dad and brother slept, my mum and me in the bed. We'd run around the different hallways and find stairwells and make friends with all the staff. 'I just knew that I'd never allow myself to fail. 'I will always want to work harder, achieve more. I love to work. There's 24 hours in a day, obviously, but I make sure that there's 26 for me.'

Walton Goggins' Wife On Aimee Lou Wood Romance Rumors
It's no secret that Season 3 of The White Lotus was partially overshadowed by whispers of off-screen drama between the cast members — particularly Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins, who played couple Chelsea and Rick on the show. If you need reminding, the two initially appeared to be incredibly close during the promo cycle for the series, and posted cute tributes to one another on Instagram. However, eagle-eyed fans later noticed that Aimee and Walton had unfollowed each other, with some going so far as to theorize that Walton had blocked Aimee when they saw that her comments no longer showed up under his posts, but his were still visible on hers. Their co-star Jason Isaacs then added fuel to the fire when he reflected on 'tensions and difficulties' during filming in a candid interview with the Guardian. He notably added at the time: 'There were alliances that formed and broke, romances that formed and broke, friendships that formed and broke.' 'It's a long period of time for people to be away from their family with an open bar and all the wildness being in Thailand allows,' Jason went on. 'Within a couple of weeks, my wife [who was with him on set and used to be an actor] went: 'Some of these people are fucking mad.' I said: 'No, it's just a bunch of actors away on location, love. You've forgotten what it's like.'' It didn't take long for people to speculate that something had gone down between 31-year-old Aimee and 53-year-old Walton, and while neither star has publicly commented on the speculation surrounding their relationship, Walton did repeatedly shut down a journalist's attempt to get him to comment in an interview with the Times UK. In the article's intro, reporter Ed Potton warns that 'the interview will go off the rails' when he asks Walton about Aimee, and this proves to be true, with Ed asking Walton if he and Aimee had 'fallen out' partway through the interview. 'I'm not gonna have that conversation,' Walton said in response, with both of his publicists who were in the room at the time telling Ed to move on to the next question, with one of them adding: 'We're not going there, thank you.'But after a dutiful chat about Walton's latest movie, The Uninvited, Ed broached the topic again — this time hinged on the fact that Walton was set to host Saturday Night Live, which CNN journalist Elizabeth Wagmeister previously suggested that Aimee might make a special appearance on. When asked if he and Aimee are set for a reconciliation, Walton apparently said nothing. One of the publicists is said to have suggested: 'Shall we talk about The Uninvited a bit more?' Ed writes: 'I splutter for a few seconds. Goggins laughs sarcastically. 'Thinly veiled, my friend. The thing you're least interested in.'' Despite this, Ed still attempted to bring up Aimee for a third and fourth time in the interview, which is when Walton seemingly ran out of patience. First of all, Walton told the journalist: 'There is no conversation to be had about that. Sharing politics on social media — it's in a vacuum,' and when Ed still refused to back down, Walton is said to have gasped: 'What the fuck, Ed! Come on, buddy. Wow.' Meanwhile, one of his publicists said: 'We're going to end it there,' stopping the interview in its tracks. But while Walton wouldn't discuss the drama, his wife, Nadia Connors, did in a new interview with Hello! magazine, where she breezily brushed off the romance rumors. For reference, Nadia is a writer and director, and she and Walton began dating in 2005 before getting married in 2011. They share a 14-year-old son called Augustus. Referencing the speculation between her husband and his much younger costar, Nadia said: 'It's odd to see it, but it's an indication of how much people were invested in the fictional characters. I take it as a sign that he's quite popular.' You can't deny that that's an impressively measured response to the drama! What do you make of Nadia's comment? Let me know down below.
