‘World's fastest cow' beats CTV reporters in race at Calgary Stampeders game
Timm Bruch and Jordan Kanygin, two of CTV Calgary's reporters, got a chance to beat the 'world's fastest cow' in a race.
They may be the first on some of the breaking news stories in the city of Calgary, but a pair of CTV News reporters were a little flat-footed when it came to racing against 'the world's fastest cow.'
The race, a tradition at Calgary Stampeders home games, matches contestants against the cow, which is actually a competitive sprinter dressed up like one, in a sprint down the field at McMahon Stadium.
On Thursday night, CTV Calgary reporters Timm Bruch and Jordan Kanygin took part in the event.

Even though both were given a sizable lead, the bovine bolter powered past them to take the win.

The Calgary Stampeders' world's fastest cow (actually a sprinter in a suit) handily beat CTV News reporters Timm Bruch and Jordan Kanygin in a race at McMahon Stadium on July 24, 2025.
While they lost the race, both Bruch and Kanygin got to take home some Stampeders souvenirs for their effort.
The Calgary Stampeders' next game is in Ottawa on July 31, while their next home game is against Winnipeg on Aug. 9.
