Reality star addresses rumours that his collapsed nose was a result of drugs and partying: 'Can't rule it out'

Timm Hanly has addressed speculation surrounding his collapsed septum in a honest Instagram Q&A - and admitted his partying past could be partly to blame. The former Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise star took to his Stories on Wednesday after fans bombarded him with questions about the noticeable damage to his nose, prompting the 31-year-old to deliver a refreshingly candid explanation. 'Alright, let's just clear things up before we get right into this question box,' he began. '90% of the questions are like, is this from too much cocaine? Is this from too much partying?' And in classic Timm fashion, he didn't shy away from the rumours. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'We can't rule out that it wasn't from cocaine or partying 'cause I've done lots of that in my life' he said. 'But I stopped doing that about five years ago when I started Front Runner, and I still had two good nostrils when I ended my partying career,' he admitted. Timm went on to reveal the more likely culprit was a brutal stint in the ring. 'I did have a boxing camp after that, which I got absolutely f***ing pumped in… my nose got broken a couple of times, so I'm gonna say boxing - but we can't completely rule out the cocaine fking conspiracy,' he added with a laugh. 'But yeah, those days are over... I'm done with all that. Everything I do now has a purpose.' The Melbourne-based larrikin has been open about his decision to overhaul his lifestyle in recent years, trading in wild nights out for business meetings and early mornings. Back in 2020, Timm told Daily Mail Australia he was ready for a 'different stage' of his life, crediting his streetwear brand for helping him find purpose after years of partying. 'I'm in a really good place at the moment,' he said at the time. 'It's like part of growing up. It's sort of exciting. It's like I've stepped into a new world.' Timm, known for his cheeky charm and trademark tattoos, launched Front Runner as a way to channel his energy into something productive and positive. 'For the first time in my life I've actually been able to finish something,' he said. 'I normally get too distracted or never find the time to complete things.' In July of that year, he also revealed he'd chosen to go sober after noticing his binge drinking was 'getting out of control'. 'I wasn't a daily drinker, more of a weekend binge drinker, but it would set me back for ages,' he explained. Now focused on health, business and personal growth, Timm has turned his life around – and while he's not denying his chaotic past, he's determined to move forward.

The Bachelorette star Timm Hanly reveals his completely collapsed septum and the post-surgery practice that made him cry

Timm Hanly has undergone surgery after his septum completely collapsed. The Bachelorette star, 33, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a picture showing the right nostril of his nose completely closed. While it is not yet known how his nostril collapsed, there are several ways it can occur, including a deviated septum weakening the valve, structurally weak nasal cartilages or direct trauma to the nose. Timm underwent a septoplasty - a surgery that straightens the nasal septum - to reconstruct the nostril. The reality star, who was a fan favourite on Angie Kent 's season of the dating show, posted a follow-up video to show his nose post-surgery. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In the clip, Timm was seen squirting saline solution up his nose, a common practice after septoplasties to keep the nasal passages moist. 'POV: Day 1 septoplasty,' he captioned the post, which showed the shirtless star teary-eyed as he attempted the uncomfortable recovery measure. Timm made headlines last year after he was an unexpected hit in the US, charming his way into American hearts during a holiday in West Hollywood. In June 2024, the Aussie star went viral after doing a vox pop TikTok interview with American content creator Chris Stanley as he attended a gay pride parade. Having just 'stumbled across' the festival with his wife Briana De La Motte and their nine-month-old daughter Harper, Timm made quite the impression on viewers. 'We're just here from Australia. It's our second day here. Second day in America and we just stumbled across [the parade] and I'm just here for the vibes,' Timm said. 'We love it. We absolutely love it,' he added, before Chris asked: 'Do you think the gays can throw a good party?' Timm promptly responded: 'F**ken' oath. One hundred per cent. No one does it better really.' Chris then asked: 'How does it feel if a gay guy is hitting on you?' 'Oh, I love this. Let's say I'm walking down the street and a gay guy is, like, looking at me [checking me out]. That's as good as a girl looking at me,' Timm said. 'That counts. That's as good for my ego as a hot chick looking at me,' he added. Newfound fans from the US flocked to the comments of the video to swoon over the hunky father-of-one. 'More men like him please,' Chris wrote in the caption of the clip. Another person said: 'That's a healthy, secure and proud masculinity', while another said Timm had the 'biggest, fattest, longest d**k energy!' 'Australians are so cool and friendly,' a third added. Meanwhile, Timm and wife Briana welcomed their daughter Harper on August 31 2023, announcing the news to Instagram alongside footage of their bundle of joy. The couple dated on and off for six years before his stint on Angie Kent's season of The Bachelorette in 2019, where he placed runner-up to Carlin Sterritt. He went on to appear in Bachelor in Paradise in 2020, where he struck up a romance with Brittany Hockley in Fiji. The pair left the show as a couple after just a few episodes but broke up not long after returning to Australia. Timm and Briana went public with their newly rekindled romance soon after Bachelor in Paradise's finale aired on TV.
