She was only 16: Teen girl killed at Opelika park, suspect now charged with murder
OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) — A Union Springs teenager has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Jamiyah Grant in an Opelika park Saturday night.
Opelika Police confirm 18-year-old Timothy Shell Jr. was taken into custody Sunday, June 8, and charged with murder. The arrest follows a deadly shooting at Bandy Park on June 7 around 8:30 p.m.

Shell was identified as the suspected shooter during the initial investigation and arrested by Opelika Police detectives the next day.
