I tested this viral wet-dry Tineco vacuum cleaner for 2 months. It picks up a 'shocking amount of grime' — and it's $150 off

There are few things more humbling than realizing your floors are not nearly as clean as you thought they were. In my home, this sensation arises every time I pull out my Tineco GO H2O Cordless Wet/Dry Upright Vacuum. I vacuum regularly and mop my floors whenever they need some TLC. However, like most people, I can be lazy, so while my home may appear clean to the naked eye, a closer inspection reveals an underworld of dirt and grime. After testing the Tineco wet-dry vacuum for more than two months, I am reluctant to ever return to a world without it. If you're looking for a powerful cleaning tool that eliminates the need for a traditional mop, I would recommend it — keep scrolling to find out why. Save $150 for a limited time. Tineco GO H2O XL: Best Buy Canada, TSC, Walmart Canada Tineco GO H2O: Canadian Tire, Tineco The Tineco GO H2O Cordless Hard Floor Wet Cleaner combines the functions of a mop and vacuum, saving you time and effort. The two-in-one vacuum features an innovative flat scraper that clears away debris while continually washing floors. As the device scrubs floors with clean water, it moves dirty water into a separate tank, ensuring that only a cleaning solution and fresh water hit the ground. After cleaning, the Tineco GO H2O leaves your floors completely dry and streak-free within seconds. Tineco's brush head easily reaches narrow spaces and ensures precise cleaning along baseboards and in hard-to-reach corners. It's suitable for tough, sticky messes on hard floors, including hardwood, tile, marble and laminate, and is cordless, so you can move about your house without dealing with any cords. The device has a (very handy) self-cleaning function that automatically cleans the rollers and tubing with the touch of a button. There's even a centrifugal drying function which effectively removes water from the roller, further eliminating clean-up mess. Many moons ago, I owned a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, and to be honest, I hated it. That experience tainted my view on 2-in-1 devices for a few years, but having thoroughly tested the Tineco GO H2O Cordless Hard Floor Wet Cleaner, I am well and duly converted. Here's what I like about it: It's easy to use: I don't have the time nor the patience to set up or use complicated machinery. Happily, using the Tineco is incredibly straightforward. Once you fill the water tank and add the accompanying Tineco Floor Cleaning Solution, simply press a button to get started. The self-cleaning function is equally straightforward. It picks up a shocking amount of grime: As I mentioned above, I vacuum regularly, so it always surprises me just how much dirt and grime winds up in the tank. In addition to dirt, the brush roller picks up hair, debris and gunk you have on your floors without an issue. The self-cleaning function is my favourite part: The fact you can press a button and the device cleans itself is a game-changer. Of course, you still need to empty the tank and wipe down the surfaces, but overall, it's a hassle-free process. It's great for quick clean-ups: Unlike a traditional mop and bucket, the Tineco takes seconds to set up and doesn't require a ton of water. Additionally, the clean water on the floor dries almost immediately and doesn't leave behind streaks, which is a huge advantage over traditional mopping. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Tineco, but depending on your household needs, there are a few things to consider: It's better for upkeep rather than heavy-duty clean-ups: While the Tineco is quick and handy, it won't replace a traditional vacuum if you have a lot of debris to pick up. If you have a home with pets, for example, you would still want to vacuum before using the Tineco. The tank might not be large enough for some homes: I own the Tineco GO H2O, but I included the XL version above for a reason. I live in a small apartment, so the size of the water tank isn't an issue for me. However, if you have more floorspace to cover, the XL version might be a better option. The Tineco GO H2O XL has a 30 per cent larger water tank and a 75 per cent extended battery life. The cleaning solution is expensive: The Tineco instructions say that you should only use its branded cleaning solution — the refills of which are not cheap. I'm not sure if I believe that, but I also don't want to break a $400 floor cleaner, so I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. Would I recommend the Tineco GO H2O wet-dry vacuum? If you live in a home with a lot of hard flooring and want to streamline your cleaning routine — absolutely. It's a pricey gadget, but it's worth the investment, especially if you're able to snag it on sale. I love it for regular cleaning maintenance, but if you're looking for a do-it-all cleaner to replace your vacuum and mop entirely, I would reign in your expectations.
