YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Communities around the world gathered for the March for Jesus event on Saturday, including the Mahoning Valley. Locally, the march was held at South High School in Youngstown. Over a dozen local churches participated, sharing their praise and growing the community. Organizers say this event is focused on bringing different people together to focus on their united faith. 'All churches, all denominations coming together just to celebrate Jesus, put aside any differences we may have and focus on our one common factor, and that's the love of Jesus and sharing that with our community,' said Stephanie McKelvey, regional coordinator of March for Jesus. March for Jesus is a national event to bring church communities together. Tino DiCenso contributed to this report. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Relay For Life celebrates 40 years of honoring cancer survivors

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — The American Cancer Society celebrated 40 years of Relay For Life in Warren on Sunday afternoon. People from Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties joined in. In the past, each county had its own event, but this year they all came together at the Saint Demetrios Community Center in Warren. The event honors cancer survivors and remembers those who have died from the disease. Survivors were recognized during a special lap. Relay For Life has become the largest volunteer-based fundraiser in the world. Jen Snodgrass, a manager with the American Cancer Society, is hopeful about reaching this year's goal. 'Our goal is to raise $70,000. We're about $3,000 shy right now, which is super exciting, and so hopefully after today as well as some additional fundraising, we'll be able to hit our goal. I'm pretty confident we will. So, it's awesome that everyone here in Trumbull County are raising $70,000 for an awesome mission. So, it's really great to be out,' Snodgrass said. Snodgrass said the money raised benefits the American Cancer Society with programs and services for those battling cancer and for cancer research. Tino DiCenso contributed to this report.
