Police investigating homicide on North 1st Avenue
(Metro Creative Services) Lake Charles Police officers are investigating a homicide that occurred over the weekend in the 200 block of North 1st Avenue. Lt. John Russell said officers responded to a shooting report just before 6 p.m. Sunday night. He said upon arrivals, officers discovered a subject suffering from a gunshot wound. At this time, no suspect information is available,' Russell said. 'Detectives are pursuing all leads and conducting a thorough investigation.' Russell said the department is urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area — or who may have relevant video surveillance or information — to come forward. 'Even the smallest detail could assist in solving this case,' he said. Those with information are asked to call Sgt. Ben Randolph at 337-491-1311 or submit tips anonymously through the LCPD mobile app, Tip411. Russell said the shooting 'appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to public safety.'

Wilmington police seek information related to 'suspicious death'
The Wilmington Police Department is seeking information about what it's calling a "suspicious death." Just after 10 p.m. Friday, June 27, police officers responded to the 2300 block of East Lake Shore Drive. The incident was initially reported as an injured person, but officers found one man dead when they arrived, according to a news release from the police department. The incident is being investigated as a suspicious death by the WPD Criminal Investigation Division. Details about how the person died and his identity were not immediately available Saturday morning. One injured, firearm seized in Grand Forks after suspected accidental discharge
Jun. 16—GRAND FORKS — One person sustained non-life threatening injuries after a suspected accidental discharge of a firearm early morning Monday, June 16, in Grand Forks. Grand Forks Police Department officers were dispatched at approximately 1:50 a.m. for a report of someone being shot at 4265 Fifth Ave. N., according to a press release issued by the agency. Initial investigation of the incident revealed a handgun had been discharged inside of an apartment, the release said. One person was injured and transported to Altru by private vehicle. Several witnesses were interviewed on scene. The investigation is ongoing but, at this time, law enforcement believes the incident was a result of an accidental discharge. The firearm was seized and there is no known threat to the public, the release said. 2 women critically injured after shooting on I-20
An investigation is underway after a shooting on Interstate 20, according to DeKalb County police. Three shot, one arrested at Pennsylvania bar
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) — Three people were shot overnight at a Pennsylvania bar, police said. This happened at a sports bar in the 1100 block of Airport Road in Allentown around 2 a.m. Sunday. Allentown Police said they were called for a report of shots fired and found a man injured. Two other victims were taken to area hospitals, police said. All are expected to survive, police said. As officers were investigating, police said they saw a man discard a firearm under a nearby vehicle. That man — Javian Anthony Sabater, 24, of Bethlehem — was charged with persons not to possess a firearm and tampering with evidence. Police are investigating and there is no danger to the community.
