Tiruchendur temple gears up for Vaikasi Visakam festival on June 9
The Vaikasi Visakam festival is set to take place on June 9 (Monday) at the Tiruchendur Subramanya Swamy temple. In anticipation of the event, a large number of devotees have begun arriving on foot pilgrimage. The temple administration has announced that a special queue has been arranged exclusively for these pilgrims.
As part of the festival, the temple will open at 1 a.m. followed by Viswaroopa Deeparadhana at 1:30 a.m. and other pujas and rituals throughout the day. On the Vaikasi Visakam day, lord Jayanthinathar will appear in Shanmugavilasa Mandapam at 7 p.m. and bless the sages by removing their curses.
Devotees from across Tamil Nadu and other states are expected to visit the temple for the festival. A significant number of pilgrims have already started arriving by foot.
For the devotees arriving by foot through the Thoothukudi route, the temple administration has arranged to issue identification wristbands near Arumuganeri DCW bus stop, starting from June 8 (Sunday), 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday (June 10). People wearing this wristband will be allowed to have darshan of the deity through a special queue.
The festival arrangements are being closely monitored by the temple administration.
