Tish Cyrus rushed into marriage, and Brandi was terrified she'd regret it

Brandi Cyrus is opening up about the concerns she had when her mother, Tish Cyrus, quickly moved on from her marriage to Billy Ray Cyrus and wed Prison Break star Dominic Purcell. On the latest episode of the Boyfriend Material podcast, Brandi told her mom she was initially 'scared' by how fast things moved. 'We just got out of one marriage, why are we jumping into another?' she recalled thinking. Tish and Billy Ray divorced in 2022 after nearly three decades together. While Brandi, 38, says she did express caution at the time, she ultimately sees that it worked out for the best. 'You didn't listen to me,' she joked, but acknowledged that Tish seems happy with Purcell. Tish, 58, married the actor in August 2023, just over a year after confirming the relationship. Miley Cyrus was reportedly the most encouraging about her mom's new relationship, a fact Brandi playfully teased on the show. 'I feel like you like taking your own dating advice,' she told Tish. Despite early hesitation, Brandi was one of three children who attended Tish's wedding, along with siblings Miley and Trace. Noah Cyrus, who was at odds with Tish at the time, did not attend but has since been working on mending their relationship. 'We still need our mommy so bad,' Noah said in an April podcast appearance. The Cyrus family dynamic has seen its share of shifts, with Billy Ray recently separating from Firerose and stepping out with Elizabeth Hurley. Through it all, Tish appears to have found stability, and support from most of her kids, in her new chapter with Purcell.

Tish Cyrus got 'too high' at Miley's birthday party

Now sober, the podcaster admitted she made several errors of judgment in her hard-partying years. Appearing on the Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey podcast, Tish, 58, revealed she had accidentally consumed too much cannabis at one of Miley's birthday parties, held at Beachers Madhouse in Los Angeles. Tish explained, 'Miley would have parties there and it was a whole thing, but this was actually before I smoked, and I ate some brownies at the party.' After taking herself home, Tish woke up two hours later to realise, "everything was spinning and I was coming freaking unglued", she recalled.

The Grammy winner, 32, shed some light on her child star days while appearing on Thursday's (June 19) episode of Sorry We're Cyrus , the podcast hosted by her mum, Tish, and big sister Brandi. Asked about an amusing 'core memory' from making the teen sitcom co-starring her father, Miley said: 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it.' Tish said she remembered the drama, noting that once everyone realised it was actually Billy Ray toking on the set, people on the show kept calling her to say 'B-Ray was smoking pot.' She said she refused to believe it at the time, and tried blaming Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso instead. 'It was Mitchel Musso! It was both,' Miley replied with a laugh. During the episode, the famous family also addressed when Tish 'mysteriously' – as Miley teased – unfollowed her on Instagram last month, prompting speculation about the state of their relationship. Miley at the time dismissed the rumour mill, saying that though she 'rarely' bothers weighing in on the grapevine, her mum is her 'best friend' and the two 'are too tight for anything to ever come between us.' Much like Tish responded to one of her own followers, Cyrus said the move was a 'simple, coincidental and uninteresting' mistake, despite occurring just hours after Billy Ray broadcast how excited he was to see his daughter. They had their own dust-up in July 2024, when he apparently called Miley and Tish 'skanks' in texts and audio obtained by multiple outlets. About a year prior, Tish and youngest daughter Noah – who reportedly had a relationship with her new stepdad Dominic Purcell, before he wed her mum – put their own reported feud to bed. – New York Daily News

Miley Cyrus' sister Noah shares cryptic message while drinking beer in a bikini after dramatic family 'feud'

' little sister Noah fired up her Insta Stories this week and shared a tantalizing message to fans in the wake of her alleged family drama. Noah was rumored to be on the outs with her mother Tish Cyrus and her stepfather, Prison Break heartthrob Dominic Purcell. Tish, 58, and Dominic, 55, got married in Malibu in 2023, but speculation then quickly started circulating that her daughter Noah, 25, dated him first. They have since evidently mended fences, even giving a joint interview this April in which they discussed how they strengthened their bond. Now Noah has offered a mysterious glimpse into her state of mind, alongside a scintillating snap of her drinking beer in a barely-there bikini. Although the ' nepo baby ' caught viewers' eyes with her lithe summer body, it was the musical accompaniment she chose for the post that hinted at her feelings. Her song selection was the Shaboozey release Good News, which dropped last year as the lead single of his new album Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going. Specifically, she chose a lyric that ran: 'For the man at the bar confessin' his sins, I need some good news. Sittin' here sippin' on cold truth - no one knows what I'm goin' through. Bet the Devil wouldn't walk in my shoes. Wish someone told me....' Noah has a history with Shaboozey, having featured on his track My Fault last year before performing with him at Coachella this April. Her post comes after she buried the hatchet with her mother Tish, following the widely reported speculation that the two women fell out over Dominic. Rumors began flying when it emerged that Noah and her brother Braison had skipped Tish and Dominic's wedding, which was held at Miley's Los Angeles home. 'Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends with benefits way, off and on. They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up,' a source claimed to People. 'Tish knew he had been seeing Noah.' 'Noah stopped seeing Dominic and Tish decided to pursue him and did not tell Noah,' an insider alleged to Entertainment Tonight. 'Tish was the one who did not invite Noah and Braison to her wedding, and blocked them on Instagram after she pursued Dominic,' the source added, accusing Tish of having 'requested security at her wedding to keep Noah and Braison out.' The two women were said to have feuded over the issue, but Noah was seen paying a visit to her last July, apparently signaling a potential rapprochement. By this April, the two women had reunited for a TikTok video, and later that month Tish and one of her other daughters Brandi welcomed Noah onto their podcast. On the podcast, Tish and Noah did not directly address the putative feud but did discuss how they had grown closer to one another. Tish noted that Noah had moved closer to her this year, which had been 'been so good for us,' with the pair of them 'able to go on our walks and we found our new favorite ice cream truck,' on an episode of Sorry We're Cyrus. The Cyrus matriarch also showered praise on Noah's fiancé, the German fashion designer Pinkus, whom she got engaged to in May 2023. 'I love him so much and honestly… he is a man. He's so respectful and driven and sweet. Honestly I think he is perfect,' said Tish. 'He is so awesome and I could not be happier that you are with him.'
