Exclusive: Priyanka says Heads of State team knows value of strong female lead
Priyanka Chopra is thrilled about her latest release, 'Heads of State', now streaming on Prime Video. The global icon stars as MI6 agent Noel Bisset alongside John Cena and Idris Elba. In a conversation with India Today, Priyanka spoke about her experience of performing high-octane action sequences in the film, and praised the makers for recognising the significance of her talking to us, the 'Bajirao Mastani' actor said, 'I feel it was Ilya Naishuller's intention from the very beginning when he first spoke to me about the movie. he felt it was really important to have a woman at the helm. Just the image of me, at five-foot-seven, even with heels on, telling both of these guys to stay in their lane, it was so funny to me. That alone made me want to do the movie. I thought, that's hilarious, but on a deeper level, emotionally, it really mattered to Ilya.'She added, 'Even though the film is led by a lot of men, these are men who are feminists, who understand the value of creating a role like this. Roles like this don't come around often, so I was very happy to be part of the ride."advertisement
Earlier, during the red carpet premiere of her film in London, Chopra even spoke about her love for doing action films and acknowledged the efforts by the stunt team who helped her do what she did in the film."I love what Tom Cruise and Akshay Kumar do. They're really good at that," Chopra stated, acknowledging the remarkable skills of these actors often seen executing high-risk action gave a 3.5 rating to the series.
