Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 – Release date rumors, cast updates and what to expect next
By Aman Shukla Published on July 25, 2025, 20:00 IST Last updated July 25, 2025, 16:00 IST If you're as hooked on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation as I am, you're probably counting the days until Season 3 drops. This isekai gem, with its lush world and Rudeus Greyrat's messy, heartfelt journey, has us all on edge after Season 2's big finish in June 2024. The news that Season 3 is officially in the works has fans buzzing. So, let's break down what we know about the release date, who's returning, and what's next for our favorite reincarnated hero. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 Release Date Rumour No exact date yet, which is honestly driving us all a little nuts. But digging into X posts and some industry chatter, it seems Mushoku Tensei Season 3 could land in late 2025 or maybe spring 2026. A tidbit from Toho Animation's reports points to April 2026 as a strong possibility, which makes sense given how long it took between Seasons 1 and 2—about a year and a half. Studio Bind, the folks behind the show's gorgeous animation, is wrapping up other projects like Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku (out in January 2025) and Ruri no Hōseki (sometime in 2025). Once those are done, they'll likely pour their energy into Rudeus' next adventure. For the latest scoop, I'd keep tabs on the Mushoku Tensei X account (@mushokutensei_A) or Crunchyroll's news page. Oh, and mark July 6, 2025, on your calendar—a new trailer's expected then! Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 Cast Updates The voice actors make this show what it is, bringing so much heart to every scene. From what we know, the main crew is coming back, and thank goodness for that. Here's who you'll likely hear: Yumi Uchiyama as Rudeus Greyrat, our guy trying to make good in his second life. Tomokazu Sugita as Rudeus' inner thoughts, carrying the baggage of his old self. Ai Kakuma as Eris Boreas Greyrat, the sword-swinging spitfire we adore. Ai Kayano as Sylphiette, the soft-hearted friend who's so much more. Konomi Kohara as Roxy Migurdia, the mage who's always got Rudeus' back. No word on new voices yet, but the next arc might bring in some fresh characters. I'm crossing my fingers for an update soon—maybe check X or Studio Bind's site for any hints. What To Expect In Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 If you haven't seen Mushoku Tensei yet, it's about Rudeus, a guy who gets a do-over in a magical world after a rough end to his first life. He's determined to live better this time, and it's equal parts epic and emotional. Season 2 left us with Rudeus reflecting on his dad's lessons, ready to step up in a big way. Word is Season 3 will dive into the Summoning Arc, picking up around Volume 14 of Rifujin na Magonote's light novels. Rudeus, Nanahoshi, and their crew head to the floating fortress of Perugius Dola, a big-deal Dragon Tribe figure. Expect some wild magic, intense battles, and the big one: Turning Point 4. If you've read the novels, you know this part's a gut-punch, and even anime-only fans are hyped based on X reactions. The light novels go up to 26 volumes, so there's no shortage of story to tell. Season 3 might cover Volumes 14 to 16, probably with 24 episodes like before. We'll see Rudeus' bonds with Sylphiette and Roxy deepen, plus new challenges that test everything he's learned. The new trailer teases an action-heavy return, featuring updated looks at the core cast, new characters entering the fray, and another collaboration with OneRepublic. Their new ending theme, 'Beautiful Colors,' plays over the trailer and sets a emotional tone for the mayhem ahead. Season 2 officially premieres in Japan on July 19th, and, just like Season 1, it'll stream internationally via Crunchyroll and X. The cast is expanding in big ways this season. New additions include: Koki Uchiyama as Gen Narumi, Hiroki Yasumoto as Eiji Hasegawa, Kana Hanazawa as Rin Shinonome, and Kotono Mitsuishi as Hikaru Shinomiya. The original creative team is back as well, and it includes directors Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Tamiya, Tetsuya Nishio handles character design, and Yuta Bando scores the series. Studio Khara continues to handle the kaiju designs alongside Production I.G., so expect more of the slick animation and intense creature action that helped Season 1 stand out. Crunchyroll teases the plot for Season 2 as follows: 'Thanks to Isao Shinomiya, Kafka Hibino avoids being turned into a weapon. As new recruits head to their posts, Kafka meets Gen Narumi, the strongest man in the Defense Force and leader of the First Division. 'Kafka embraces the power of Kaiju No. 8 to force Gen to recognize his strength. Meanwhile, Kaiju No. 9 lurks in the shadows as the greatest threat the Defense Force has faced awaits.' Creator Naoya Matsumoto is also preparing to release the final chapter of the Kaiju No. 8 manga just as the new season premieres, making this a milestone summer for the franchise. Between the anime and the manga's finale, fans are in for an all-out blowout. Season 2 premieres July 19th. The opening theme of the show is a haunting new track titled 'You Can't Run From Yourself' by Aurora.
