Parade, carnival, food trucks: Le Mars releases plans for Ice Cream Days
LE MARS, Iowa (KCAU) — An annual, multi-day celebration is coming to Le Mars this summer. The Annual Ice Cream Days Festival is taking place from June 18 to 21. On Wednesday, June 18, there will be a community coffee event at the Wells Ice Cream Visitor Center. There will also be, live music, a classic car show, a family bike ride, and axe throwing. On Thursday, June 19, there will be a kids' theater performance, an ice cream social, and an outdoor movie screening. Then, on Friday, June 20, there are celebrations at the Art Center, a carnival, an ice cream train, a scavenger hunt, pony rides, face painting, a foam party, and more live performances. On that day, visitors can enjoy a farmer's market, bingo, food trucks, a parade, and a fun run! Also, there's a competition this year called 'Scooper Hero Contest.' For this, you can nominate a child to be the Scooper Hero, and they'll receive the first scoop of ice cream to kick off celebrations. Nominations are due Monday, June 9. WATCH: Coyote sightings in Kingsley; Police issue warning
KINGSLEY, Iowa (KCAU) —The Kingsley Police Department has issued a warning after a coyote was spotted in the town earlier this week. According to a Facebook post from the police department, the coyote was found attacking someone's pet who was on their porch. Additionally, police state that the porch light had been on during the attack. The police department said that anyone with pets should keep an eye on them if they are being let out in the evening or in the early morning hours. The police department said that they will also be doing what they can to help keep pets and the community safe. They are currently looking into solutions to help deal with the issue. 15th Annual Bike SUX coming to Sioux City
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Bicyclists from across the Midwest are coming to Siouxland for the 15th annual Bike SUX. According to the press release, the ride will be from Caribou Coffee on Hamilton Boulevard at 9:00 a.m. and will wind up at One Eyed Jacks. Registration and check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. The bike ride began not only to promote cycling in Siouxland, but also to raise money. Each year, Bike SUX raises funds for a different nonprofit in Siouxland. This year, the event is raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland. Local band to be featured on Saturday in the Park Main Stage
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — One of Sioux City's most well-known local acts will be taking to the Saturday in the Park (SITP) Main Stage this year. GhostCat will be playing on the Main Stage for the 2025 SITP. This comes just a couple of years after rocking the Abe Stage in 2023.
