McGill pens new Brighton deal until 2027
Brighton goalkeeper Tom McGill has signed a new contract that runs until June 2027. The 25-year-old has been with Albion since he was 14 and spent the first half of this season on loan with MK Dons, where he made 25 League Two appearances. Men's first team head coach Fabian Hurzeler said: "Tom has been an important part of our goalkeeping team for a long time and we're pleased to see that continue. "He gained some valuable experience with MK Dons this season and we're confident that Tom will continue to improve with us." As well as loan spells with the likes of Greenwich Borough, Basingstoke Town and Crawley Town, McGill received his first call-up to the Canada senior squad in March 2023, before being named in his country's 2024 Copa America squad.

Brighton's Tom McGill signs new two-year contract
Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Tom McGill has signed a new two-year contract. The 25-year-old back-up has been with the club since the age of 14. He spent the first half of the campaign on loan to League Two side MK Dons, making 25 appearances before returning to understudy first choice Bart Verbruggen and No 2 Jason Steele. 'He gained some valuable experience with MK Dons this season and we're confident that Tom will continue to improve with us.' McGill received his first call-up to the Canada senior squad in March 2023 and he was part of his country's Copa America squad last year. His new contract until June 2027 comes after Carl Rushworth indicated he wants to leave Brighton unless his chances of game time improve. The 23-year-old returned from an injury-hit loan spell with Hull City in the Championship in the first half of the season to sit on the bench for 12 Premier League games in succession from January while Steele recovered from shoulder surgery.
