Omdia: Nokia, ZTE, and Ericsson Lead in Private 5G – The Key Enterprise 5G Monetization Opportunity
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Omdia's latest competitive assessment of nine end-to-end private 5G network infrastructure vendors has identified Nokia, ZTE, and Ericsson as the top three leaders in this evolving market. The evaluation reflects the vendors' maturity, market commitment, and ability to deliver full-stack solutions tailored to enterprise needs across vertical sectors. Private 5G networks are evolving from pure connectivity offerings into integrated solutions that address complex vertical markets. While early commitment to the market has often translated into a clear market advantage and product maturity, the ground under private networks is shifting as enterprise needs evolve and new opportunities emerge. Choosing the right bets and strategic directions - whether creating a private 5G plus Wi-Fi offering, tailoring products to mission-critical networks or specific sub-verticals or building an edge-plus AI story - is paramount for continuous success. The private 5G market has presented significant challenges for vendors and service providers. Attempts to create tier 2 and 3 distributor models failed. Vendors now recognize that private networks are highly specialized and require a few focused partners – not a wide distribution channel – to drive market growth. Those that did not bridge the gap between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) also struggled to achieve results. Success in this space requires the alignment of both IT and OT from the outset. 'While everyone is talking about enterprises as the big opportunity for 5G, those active in private networks are making the hard yards to turn a marketing message into actual revenues,' says Pablo Tomasi, Principal Analyst Private Networks and Enterprise 5G at Omdia. 'Private networks provide an opportunity for vendors and partners to pursue rational adjacencies beyond the traditional connectivity play. Nokia and ZTE for example, offer industrial applications and integration capabilities to deliver industry 4.0. Ericsson and Celona are addressing indoor coverage challenges through neutral host networks. Huawei Enterprise Wireless is evolving railway operations through wide area critical network deployments,' adds Tomasi. 'These findings reflect how the private 5G market is maturing into a solution-driven, vertical-focused space,' concludes Tomasi. ABOUT OMDIA Omdia, part of Informa TechTarget, Inc. 10-year-old skim boarder catches waves and attention
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – 10-year-old Giorgio Tomasi ranked first in the semifinals of the Menehunes division at the Skim USA Tour's PCB Spring Break Jam 2025. The third stop of the Skim USA Tour, was the PCB Spring Break Jam, held along the shores of Panama City Beach. Among them was 10-year-old Giorgio Tomasi, better known as 'SkimGio,' who was quietly making waves of his own. The Tomasi family traveled to Panama City from Naples, Florida, last Thursday in preparation for the event. However, since age seven, the sport has been treated as more than just a hobby by young Tomasi, it has become a way of life. Over time, lessons were learned, equipment was fine-tuned and techniques were developed. 'All you need is a good board. That's not like a wooden one, because those things can snap easy hitting big waves,' Tomasi said. His goal for stop three of the tour was met Saturday when first place was earned in the Menehunes division semifinals. The lead was secured through a difficult move rarely seen at his age level, 'the 540 big spin'. 'You're on your feet and you spin the board four times,' Tomasi said. A score of 16.90 was awarded, placing him nearly a full point ahead of his closest competitor. At just 7 years old, a sponsorship had already been signed with ZAP Skimboards, where his potential was recognized early on. Like many young riders, a preference for water temperature and wave conditions has been formed through experience. 'They are still good waves. This is a bit cold for me, in Naples it is a bit warmer,' Tomasi said. While larger waves are often preferred by more advanced skimboarders, the conditions in Panama City were described by Tomasi as ideal for his size. 'Probably just around the right height, just a little bit choppy,' he said. After receiving the highest score in his age group Saturday, Tomasi is scheduled to compete in the Menehunes championship Sunday morning. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
