Tommy Fury admits life has been 'horrible' despite Molly-Mae reunion: 'Torture'
Tommy Fury has candidly confessed that his past six months have been "absolute torture." Fury has recently reignited his romance with Molly-Mae Hague and the couple are presently basking in the sunshine in Turkey during their latest family getaway. The duo have been posting endless snapshots of their time away with little Bambi. This occasion is vastly different from their previous overseas trip. This follows after Molly-Mae kept Fury absent from photographs as she tried to hide the fact that she had rekindled her relationship with the boxer after a temporary separation last year. Whilst the British boxing champion is currently relishing some downtime with his family, it seems that all might not be as it appears. In a recent preview for "Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury" - which is scheduled to arrive on BBC iPlayer on August 19, the 26-year-old can be seen having a conversation with his father, John Fury, confessing that he has found it difficult venturing out publicly, reports the Mirror. "My life has been absolute torture for the past six months. Horrible. Going out in public, getting screamed at. And when you go out in public and someone says something, what are you meant to do? Tip your head and f****** walk on? The reason why, you know all of this is here, is because of social media. "And it is because you have a profile, and it is because people are interested in you. If you did not, you would be f*****. You would not earn a penny. So it is tough." Prior to his comeback to the ring in May, Fury disclosed he was experiencing the finest year of his life following his struggle with the breakdown of his relationship with Molly-Mae and descending into a "dark place" due to a hand injury. "Being in a position where boxing is everything, the fact that I couldn't do that or get out of bed in the morning and did what made me happy, I just thought, 'Sod it all.' You go down that dark route for a few weeks and you end up staying down there for a long time and that has consequences," he said. "Like I said, 2024 was the worst year of my life and this year is going to be the best year of my life. It starts on Friday, I've turned it all around. I'm happy mentally now. I feel like you've got to go through these challenges in life, everyone's got a hard life so it's all about that I've come through this." 'TNT' secured a commanding points victory against Kenan Hanjalic in Budapest, Hungary in May during his first bout in almost two years. Shortly following Fury's triumph, the Brit's rival, Jake Paul, told Ariel Helwani that he had shown interest in a rematch and claimed he had even been in contact with Fury's older brother. "I think the Fury fight will happen in the next 12 months, yeah. He just has to be realistic about what's he's worth, right?" he said. "He just had a free fight on DAZN that tanked, couldn't sell the tickets in wherever he was like a 1,000 person venue and he's just negotiating like he's God. Again, I have ten names waiting to fight me in multiple different sports, MMA, boxing, all this stuff. These people just have to be realistic about what they're wanting to get paid and Tommy Fury isn't." Paul also disclosed he messaged the 'Gypsy King' directly regarding the matter. "But I DM'd Tyson Fury because Tyson was like, 'You guys need to make this happen now.' I was like, 'Tyson, you've got to put your brother in check here. He's not going to get this money or this offer anywhere else. "He already missed out on the massive opportunity on Netflix, his dad, who is his manager has no idea what the f*** he's doing and you can't let your dad run your career. Tommy's not his own boss, he's an airhead as well so I just feel bad for him because he thinks he's worth more than what he's worth." When is Tommy Fury's next fight? After his triumph over Hanjalic, Fury wasted no time in challenging Paul during his post-fight interview, bellowing: "Jake Paul's a b**** and he's running scared. Hey Jake, the hand is fixed now baby, the hand is fixed. I fought a guy in here tonight who's had more than 100 amateur fights, an experienced hitter and he's as tough as teeth. "If Jake Paul wants to step inside the ring, I guarantee next time, I will knock you spark out. I've had two years out the ring, this is after two years, I'll knock that bum out whenever he wants it." The duo have subsequently discussed a possible rematch. It seems probable that Fury might compete once more this year before facing the American, though nothing has been finalised. Both Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk could complicate matters after reports emerged that the pair are in separate talks to take on the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
