Is your local lollipop person Ireland's greatest?
They are the unsung heroes in many communities.
The friendly face and reassuring presence at the start of countless children's school days.
And they can send parents away with a pep in their step from the school run too.
And now, a new initiative is to celebrate' Ireland's Most Loved Lollipop Person'.
Tonstix Travel Pops this week launched its nationwide search for that special man or woman.
'Every morning and afternoon, rain or shine, Ireland's lollipop men and women stand on duty, ensuring our children cross the road safely,' a spokesperson said.
'Tonstix Travel Pops is on a mission to give these everyday heroes the recognition they truly deserve.'
Tonstix produce a 'natural honey pop that helps kids with travel sickness, ear popping and makesjourneys smoother for families,' – so it seems a perfect partner to find that special someone who watches over so many every day.
The search is asking members of the public to nominate those local champions who demonstrate 'incredible dedication, kindness, and community spirit'.
You can nominate your favourite lollipop person by posting a photo or video on social mediausing #TonstixlollipopPerson #TLP25 and tagging @Tonstixpops.
Or drop into your local pharmacy and pick up a colouring sheet with QR code to nominate.
The search will be divided into four regions – Munster, Leinster, Connacht, and Ulster – with a finalist from each region.
One national winner will be crowned the' Tonstix Lollipop Person Of The Year 2025' at the end of June, just before school is out for summer!
