Fleetwood Mac Reaches A New Career High Point with 'Rumours'

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours hits a new high on the Top Streaming Albums chart, earning the group a new ... More best showing on the list. The masterpiece remains one of the most commercially-beloved and critically-adored titles of all time. The pop-rock band's hit-laden collection is one of a number of releases that has earned a constant presence on the Billboard charts, but this is an especially busy week for the project. As the album rises on multiple lists, it climbs higher than ever on one in particular, proving that there's still an insatiable desire among fans to revisit the singles that turned it into a behemoth in the first place. Billboard only introduced the Top Streaming Albums chart a relatively short time ago, so classic releases and superstar musicians regularly reach new peaks as listeners turn to past favorites — sometimes turning them into streaming successes for the first time. This week, Rumours jumps 15 spaces on the Top Streaming Albums ranking, leaping from No. 49 to No. 34. That's a new high point for the full-length, and since it's the only title from Fleetwood Mac to ever appear on this tally, the band reaches a new peak as well. As it rockets up the streaming-only ranking, Rumours also climbs on four other Billboard charts, though its ascent is less dramatic. The title nears the summit once again on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums rosters, settling at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. At the same time, it also returns to the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, which focuses on the bestselling releases in the U.S., combining digital and physical purchases. Rumours jumps from No. 36 to No. 9 in that case. The collection is also rising on the Billboard 200, stepping up five spaces to No. 25. Luminate reports that in the past tracking week, Rumours sold 4,400 copies — enough to make it one of the top 10 bestselling releases in the country. A large number of those must have been on wax, as the collection reenters the Vinyl Albums chart at No. 7. It's the only list where the project had to return, since last week the chart was flooded with Record Store Day exclusives, which have now mostly disappeared. As Rumours climbs the Top Streaming Albums list and reaches a new peak, one tune stands out. 'Dreams' is one of Fleetwood Mac's most beloved cuts, and a streaming favorite to this day. The track lifts to No. 42 on the all-genre, all-style, all-language Streaming Songs chart. It also inches back into the top five on the Rock Streaming Songs ranking, pushing from No. 6 to No. 4.

Taylor Swift's Blockbuster Turns One: A Look Back At The History It Made

One year ago this week, Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department made history when it debuted on ... More the Billboard 200, breaking all kinds of records. AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - JULY 05: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY AND NO COMMERCIAL USE AT ANY TIME. NO USE ON PUBLICATION COVERS.) (Photo byfor TAS Rights Management) Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department debuted on the Billboard charts one year ago this week — and what a debut it was. The full-length arrived with record-breaking numbers across virtually every metric the company tracks, from pure sales to streaming totals to total vinyl dominance. Now, 52 weeks later, the set is still found on two tallies: the Billboard 200, where it sits at No. 16, and the Top Streaming Albums chart, where it lifts slightly and settles at No. 13, after previously conquering both rosters. In honor of its one-year anniversary on the Billboard rankings, here's a look back at The Tortured Poets Department's blockbuster first week — one that helped redefine what a commercial music launch could look like in the modern era. In its first frame, The Tortured Poets Department opened with 2.61 million equivalent album units in America alone. That stands out as the second-largest debut in the history of the Billboard 200. The only album to ever start with a more impressive sum was Adele's 25, which bowed with 3.48 million back in 2015. That massive figure includes all forms of consumption — sales, streams, and track equivalents (fans buying some songs from the project, but not all of them, which are compiled together to create album 'units'). In an era when album launches rarely top 500,000 units, Swift's opening sum was nearly unheard of. Out of that 2.61 million total, a staggering 1.914 million were pure purchases, either digital or physical. That's the third-largest sales week since Luminate began tracking purchases carefully and more directly in 1991. The Tortured Poets Department trails behind only 25 (2.433 million) and NSYNC's No Strings Attached (2.4 million). For context, the majority of chart-topping albums today don't even reach six figures in sales. Of those traditional sales, 859,000 were vinyl copies. That number allowed Swift to break her own record for the biggest vinyl sales week in the modern era. That record previously belonged to 1989 (Taylor's Version), which had moved 693,000 copies on wax just a few months prior. Swift holds most of the biggest vinyl sales weeks ever in America. Beyond physical and digital sales, The Tortured Poets Department was also hugely successful on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. The project pulled in 891.34 million on-demand audio streams in its debut seven-day tracking week, breaking the all-time record for the largest U.S. streaming period for an album. The previous record-holder, Drake's Scorpion, had opened with 745.92 million back in 2018. Shockingly, Swift beat that sum by more than 140 million streams. The title's lengthy tracklist – the first edition featured 16 songs, while the Anthology version includes a total of 31 – surely played a role in its ability to shatter this record. The collection's debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 – which was not surprising to anybody – gave Swift her fourteenth chart-topper. As it arrived and she hit that number, she matched with Jay-Z for the most among solo artists. Only The Beatles, with 19, claimed more. Since then, Drake has also secured a fourteenth leader, as his collaborative project Some Sexy Songs 4 U with PartyNextDoor opened in first place in 2025.

Selena Gomez Earns Her First Top 10 On A Billboard Tally

Selena Gomez is back with new music, and this time, she's brought a partner along for the ride. The pop star's new full-length I Said I Love You First marks a major new chapter in her career — not just musically, but personally as well. The album was created with her fiancé, producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, and while it may not have completely dominated every chart it's debuts on this frame, it's still a very special win for both acts, and for a number of reasons. I Said I Love You First finds its way onto four of Billboard's albums charts this week. It may not debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — something Gomez clearly hoped for — but the project still enjoys a healthy start strong, and it earns the couple an important placement on a tally launched not long ago. The lowest debut for I Said I Love You First comes on the Top Streaming Albums chart, where it starts off at No. 6. That might not sound like a major win compared to the other opening positions the full-length scores this week, but it's noteworthy for both artists. This week marks the first time that either Gomez or Blanco have appeared on this specific roster. Neither musician had dropped a new full-length since Billboard introduced this list more than a year ago, so it's not shocking that it took until now for the musicians to arrive. On the Billboard 200, I Said I Love You First performs much better. The album opens at No. 2, narrowly missing out on the top spot. That's likely a tough pill to swallow for Gomez, who typically launches her albums at No. 1. This time, she was blocked by Playboi Carti, whose latest release stays in first place for a second consecutive frame. According to Luminate, I Said I Love You First shifted 120,000 equivalent album units in its first tracking frame. That's a very solid total, especially for Blanco, who has never been a lead artist on such a major project before. While I Said I Love You First couldn't take over the Billboard 200, it did manage to conquer two other tallies. The new full-length opens at No. 1 on both the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums charts. Those rankings focus exclusively on purchases, and don't include streams. The project becomes Gomez's fourth No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. It marks her first leader on the Vinyl Albums tally. In its first week, the release sold 71,000 copies across all formats, proving that her fans still show up in a big way – and open their wallets – whenever she puts something new out into the world.

Nickelback Reaches One Billboard Chart For The First Time As Consumption Grows

Nickelback has been together for three decades now, and during that time, the Canadian band has released many well-known radio staples, topped the Billboard charts with albums and singles, and built a loyal fan base that continues to stream the group's biggest hits in massive numbers. That sustained popularity and consumption brings the rockers to a Billboard chart that they had somehow never reached before. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 debuts on Billboard's Top Streaming Albums chart this week. The set gets its start at No. 47. It marks Nickelback's first appearance on the streaming-focused ranking, which lists the full-lengths that earn the most plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music each tracking span. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 is one of just three new arrivals on the Top Streaming Albums chart this week. Of those debuts, it comes in with the lowest placement, though, appearing anywhere on the list is a notable accomplishment for the Grammy nominees. At the top of the tally this frame is Music by Playboi Carti, which takes over the No. 1 spot. Elsewhere, Vibras de Noche II by Eslabon Armado opens at No. 24, landing firmly in the middle of the roster. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 may be brand new to the Top Streaming Albums tally, but it's maintained its presence on several other Billboard rankings for years now. It currently appears on five additional charts, and it's on the rise on many of them. Across those various lists, the title has earned hundreds of stays, and in most cases, it has climbed into the top tiers. This week is no different, as the compilation continues to overperform on nearly every tally on which it appears. The band's compilation narrowly misses out on another big win this week, as it nearly returns to No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart. Instead, it's forced to settle for second place once more. The Best of Nickelback: Volume 1 comes in at No. 2, just behind The Father of Make Believe by Coheed and Cambria, which debuts at No. 1. The full-length also lives inside the top 10 on multiple other lists, as it appears at No. 5 on the Top Alternative Albums chart, No. 8 on the Top Rock Albums ranking, and No. 9 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums roster. It returns to the highest tier on the latter two simultaneously. On the Billboard 200, the all-genre ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S., Nickelback's project pushes forward again, rising from No. 59 to No. 54.

Eminem's Massive Album And One Of His Biggest Singles Both Return

Eminem's Curtain Call: The Hits and 'Lose Yourself' both return to on one Billboard chart apiece ... More this week. AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - NOVEMBER 10: (EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE) Eminem poses in his dressing room with the 'Best Hip Hop' and 'Global Icon' awards during the MTV EMA's 2013 at the Ziggo Dome on November 10, 2013 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. (Photo by Davefor MTV) Eminem has been one of the most dominant names in hip-hop for decades, and his music continues to thrive across multiple Billboard charts. Even without a new release, fans keep streaming, buying, and revisiting his biggest hits, ensuring that he continues to find space on the rankings with regularity. This week, both a classic album and one of his most beloved songs return to the charts, though they reappear on different rankings, as fan activity keeps both alive. Eminem's Curtain Call: The Hits will seemingly never not be a Billboard winner. The singles-packed compilation is back on four charts this frame, rising on three and reentering one. The most notable movement comes on the Top Streaming Albums chart, where the set returns at No. 47. The list ranks the most-played full-lengths across the U.S. on sites like Spotify, and for a collection released nearly two decades ago to still be among the top 50 is impressive. At its peak, Curtain Call climbed as high as No. 18 on the tally — an achievement made even more remarkable by the fact that the ranking didn't exist when the album was first released. While its reappearance on the Top Streaming Albums list is noteworthy, Curtain Call is also gaining elsewhere. The compilation is creeping closer to the top 10 on the Top Rap Albums chart, moving up three spots to No. 12. It mirrors that exact rise on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, improving to No. 18 this frame. Meanwhile, on the Billboard 200 — the most important albums chart in the U.S. — Curtain Call manages a notable jump. The set leaps nearly 20 spots, ascending from No. 68 to No. 49. Eminem isn't just finding success with his albums this week. One of his most iconic songs is once again making noise as well. 'Lose Yourself' is back on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales ranking, which tracks the bestselling songs in those genres (as well as rap) genre each week. The cut returns at No. 13, reasserting itself as one of the top-selling rap tracks in the country. Despite its incredible longevity — it has thus far spent 460 weeks on this particular chart — the 8 Mile anthem has never hit No. 1. Instead, it has peaked at No. 2, narrowly missing out on the top spot.
