Ticket alert: Shania Twain adds second concert at Hard Rock Live
Citing strong ticket demand, resurgent country-pop star Shania Twain has added a second concert at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood on Aug. 2. The general on-sale will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Tickets for Twain's original Hard Rock Live performance on Aug. 1 are available at Prices start at $116+. Thirty years after her breakout album, 'The Woman in Me,' created the template for Taylor Swift and a generation of pop-leaning country acts, the Canadian-born singer and style icon continues a remarkable renaissance that has included three Las Vegas residencies and a Netflix documentary. In South Florida, she was most recently seen in an enthusiastically received turn as the Saturday-night headliner at Tortuga Music Festival's 10th anniversary in Fort Lauderdale in 2023, an army of young festivalgoers singing along to 'That Don't Impress Me Much,' 'You're Still the One,' 'Man! I Feel Like a Woman!' and 'Any Man of Mine.' That year, Twain released her most recent studio album, 'Queen of Me,' a modern amalgam of country and shiny pop pulsations that divided critics. The supporting tour was an undeniable hit, ranking No. 4 among the highest-grossing country tours of 2023, cracking the Top 25 among all concert tours. Tortuga Music Festival kicks off in Fort Lauderdale
The sun is hot, the beats are loud and Fort Lauderdale Beach is once again pulsing with the energy of the annual Tortuga Music Festival , a three-day event that brings up to 100,000 music lovers to the sand and surf for one of the city's biggest weekends of the year. From music stars to concertgoers, Day One kicked off to a booming start and for some, getting there was half the fun. For Jena, Kathy and Leta, Tortuga isn't just a music festival, it's tradition. The three friends are back for their annual girls' weekend, minus husbands, responsibilities, or the stress of parking. "We get to not act our age, not hang out with our husbands and husbands aren't allowed to call or talk to us for a few days," laughed Leta Gardella. They skip the pricey parking and traffic jams by arriving in style on a private boat. "It's her private boat," Jena said. "She takes care of us," added Kathy. "We've got this down to a science," Leta said. "This isn't our first rodeo. I hire a captain to drive my boat." Patty and her wife Lois, visiting from Lady Lake, won their Tortuga tickets through a radio contest, but it was their travel plan that made them winners in more ways than one. "We Ubered; we didn't park," Patty said. "We played it smart. We got a cottage up in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and we called an Uber," Lois added. "It cost us 20 bucks to get down here." With limited parking and steep rates, organizers are urging festivalgoers to consider ride-sharing, water taxis, or other creative ways to get to the beach. Just across the street, Marina Village is benefiting from the Tortuga rush, welcoming those who want the music without the chaos. "We're getting a lot of people who just want to enjoy the vibe but not be in the environment of a big festival," said manager Sam Escobar. With its first Tortuga weekend in business, the spot is expecting to ride the wave of the weekend. "Tortuga's huge. It's a big draw of the year," Escobar said. "We're going to be the official after-party spot, so it's going to be a big boom for us." Friday's headliners include Jelly Roll and Ludacris. Saturday will feature Keith Urban and Shaboozey, and Sunday closes out with country stars Luke Combs and Megan Moroney. The party's just getting started and for thousands soaking up the sunshine and sounds, Tortuga is more than a festival. It's a Florida experience.

Tortuga Music Festival organizers make final security and safety preparations ahead of event
On Fort Lauderdale Beach, final preparations are underway ahead of this weekend's Tortuga Music Festival, where tens of thousands of people will pack the sand to check out some of the biggest names in music. They're getting the stages ready for some star power, rolling and finishing the last-minute details. At the same time, vendors are getting prepared with food options. Festival organizers are expecting some 100,000 people over the next three days. "We're starting to prep our chicken, peppers, onions, lettuce — just getting ready for tomorrow," said Cameron Wright. With large crowds expected, police are concerned about pickpockets. "Keep your phone and valuables secured in your front pockets," said Sgt. Patrick O'Brien of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. "Zip bags are carried in the front of your body, like a cross-body bag. Leave any expensive jewelry at home." Tortuga organizers said aside from police, there will be hundreds of security personnel and a special number to call if something seems off. "We have a 'see something, say something' number we have posted on all the screens [and] it's available on our app," said festival founder Chris Stacey. "If they see anything that's out of place, let us know and we'll take care of it." Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue is reminding people that heat, sun and alcohol can sneak up on you. "We always recommend sunscreen, hats, and definitely light-weight clothing," said Battalion Chief Kimberly Wells. "Don't let the breeze fool you into the amount of heat you're taking in throughout the day." There will also be shade zones, misting stations and free water to those with a reusable bottle.

How to Tortuga: Updates on tickets, transportation and set times for your favorite country stars
The boots-in-the-sand hoedown known as the Tortuga Music Festival is on its way back to Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, the annual pilgrimage of country-music fans taking place April 4-6. The 2025 edition will feature two headliners at the height of their popularity in Luke Combs and Jelly Roll, along with crowd-pleasing heartthrob Keith Urban, who has not played the beach since 2018. In addition to the headliners, Tortuga 2025 is particularly strong in No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, to borrow some buzzy March Madness lingo. They include Megan Moroney, Parker McCollum, Jordan Davis, Cody Jinks, Marcus King and up-and-comer Wyatt Flores. Other performers to look forward to include Shaboozey (nominated for five Grammy Awards at ceremonies in February), pop-rock crooner Gavin DeGraw, Ludacris, The Original Wailers, rapper Yelawolf and Ezra Ray Hart, a collaboration featuring Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray and Emerson Hart of Tonic. Also worth seeking out is a set by Delray Beach indie rockers Artikal Sound System on Friday at 3:35 p.m. The band, led by spirited vocalist Logan Rex, in February released a shimmering new album, 'Are You Smiling Yet?' Since its revelatory debut in 2013 with headliners Kenny Chesney and Eric Church, Tortuga has been one of South Florida's great success stories, revealing the region as a country-music hotbed and showing what is possible for large gatherings of music fans. During its first dozen years, Tortuga has been a model of efficient execution, moving 25,000 fans on and off the beach each day, with few law-enforcement issues reported. It has been named Festival of the Year by the Academy of Country Music three times, in 2016, 2019 and 2023. On the down side, the price for a single-day ticket is $199, an increase of 33% from the $149 charged in 2024. The price for single-day VIP tickets is $799, up 2.5% over the $779 charged last year. Proceeds go to a good, locally relevant cause: Tortuga Music Festival was founded by nonprofit Rock the Ocean — created by part-time Fort Lauderdale resident Chris Stacey, a diver, ocean-environment advocate and music industry veteran — as the first large-scale music festival focused on ocean conservation. You'll find the Conservation Village is a centerpiece of the festival site and home to dozens of organizations that work on sustainability for the ocean and species that live in it. The festival has raised nearly $5 million for these initiatives.
