This games represents the first meeting between Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso at the TotalEnergies CAF U17 AFCON. Cote d'Ivoire are participating in the third-place play-off match for a third time along with previous participations in 2005 and 2011. Zambia are second in the pool on goal-difference from hosts Morocco with four points from two games, while Uganda are third with three points.
