Taylor Swift shouts out fans while accepting tour of the century award for Eras Tour
Taylor Swift is showing love for the Eras Tour. The superstar gave a moving speech while accepting the tour of the century award for the Eras Tour on Monday night at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. "I really can't tell you how much this means to me," Swift began, going on to accept the award on behalf of everyone who toured alongside her on her record-breaking tour. "I've been doing a lot of processing since I've been off the road these last few months, and people often say that sometimes the greatest challenges in life end up being something you're so proud of or end up being the most gratifying feeling in the end," she said. "This tour was absolutely the most challenging thing I've ever done in my life." Swift also discussed some of the challenges that came along with the show, saying, "It's a three-and-a-half-hour show, more shows than I've ever done on a tour, and it really was the most gratifying thing I've ever done." She continued, "The only reason I was able to take on those challenges, among others ... that's all because the fans." Next, Swift addressed her fans directly. "To the fans, you made these songs for the last couple decades into what they became so that we could do a three-and-a-half-hour setlist. You had the passion and the generosity to care about traveling to see us on tour in all these places all over the world," she said. She added, "It blows my mind. I'm never going to stop being grateful for it, and I appreciate this more than you know." Viewers of the iHeartMusic Awards were also treated to a look back at Swift's performance of "Mirrorball" from her first Eras Tour show. "To celebrate iHeartRadio's 'Tour of the Century Award' honoring Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, which launched two years ago to the day of this year's telecast, an exclusive performance from that opening night show of The Eras's Tour will premiere during the Awards telecast," iHeart stated in a press release last week. After Swift's first show two years ago, she reflected on the performance on Instagram, writing, "I miss you like it was the very first night. The 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards will celebrate the most popular and most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app in 2024. Hosted by LL Cool J, the annual awards show features a starry lineup. Among this year's most-nominated artists are Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen, who are tied with 10 nods apiece. Swift will also be receiving a special honor tonight, the prestigious Tour of the Century Award, for her record-breaking 'Eras Tour,' which kicked off two years ago today. Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and Sabrina Carpenter are all tied for the second-most nominations, with nine each. Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey will also be honored at the show. Gaga will be given the Innovator Award, while Carey will receive the Icon Award. The 2025 awards show will also set the stage for showstopping performances from artists including Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish and Gracie Abrams. Before the festivities begin, the stars are showcasing their spectacular looks on the red carpet outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Here are some of the standout fashion moments from the 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards. All eyes were on Gracie Abrams, who is nominated for Best New Artist (Pop) and Best Lyrics. The 'I Love You, I'm Sorry' singer-songwriter wore a chic, khaki green dress by Khaite, which she paired with gauzy black gloves that covered her arms. Nikki Glaser wore a semi-sheer, silver mesh gown by Stella McCartney. Bad Bunny, who is nominated for Latin Pop/Urban Artist of the Year and Latin Pop/Urban Song of the Year, looked business casual in a black V-neck sweater with a white dress shirt and metallic gray tie underneath it. Rapper GloRilla made a daring fashion statement in a black gown that featured a lingerie-inspired bodice, sheer paneling along the midriff and a fitted sequined skirt. Rapper and singer Nelly wore a leather tracksuit by Prada. Jenny McCarthy wore a sheer mesh gown with rhinestone detailing and a cowl neckline. Kelsea Ballerini commanded attention in a slinky, sparkly strapless black gown. The country star's dress featured a bandeau-inspired bodice, thigh-high slit and cutout along the midriff. It was date night for Bachelor Nation stars Charity Lawson and her fiancé, Dotun Olubeko. Lawson wore a beaded silver minidress, while Olubeko donned a teal suit. JoJo Siwa stepped out in a coordinating, rhinestone-encrusted denim look, which she wore atop light pink Versace undergarments. Taylor Swift stuck to her classic look for the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Though she didn't attend in person on March 17, the "Cruel Summer" singer, 35, sent a video to fans as she accepted the Tour of the Century Award. While clutching her trophy in honor of the record-breaking Eras Tour, Swift rocked what has basically become her uniform these days. Standing against a brick wall, the Grammy winner wore a long-sleeve black tee, presumably a plaid skirt (though only a bit of the waistband was visible) and her signature red lip. It appeared to be a snake, which we've come to know all too well holds great symbolism for her as she continues to tease Reputation (Taylor's Version). On X, fans had plenty to say about the jewelry, with one writing, "Taylor wearing a snake necklace is so funny because she knows EXACTLY what she's doing" and another adding, "TAYLOR WEARING A SNAKE NECKLACE WAS NOT ON MY BINGO CARD TONIGHT." As several clever fans pointed out, the necklace appeared to not just be a snake, but an ouroboros, or an ancient symbol of a snake or dragon eating its own tail. It symbolizes rebirth. Taylor Swift shared new Eras Tour opening night performance footage at iHeartRadio Awards
Taylor Swift may not have been able to make the iHeartMusic Awards on Monday night, but she didn't leave her fans empty handed. The 14-time Grammy winner was honored with the Tour of the Century Award for her record-setting Eras Tour that spanned nearly two years, 149 shows, 51 cities and five continents. To accept the award, Swift shared a new video thanking the fans and her crews that made the Eras Tour possible. As a bonus, Swift released never-before-seen footage of her performance of "Mirrorball" on opening night of the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona. The Eras Tour kicked off two years ago on St. Patrick's Day, and "Mirrorball" — from her Evermore album — was one of two surprise songs performed that first night.
