Incumbent Willsboro supervisor loses Primary to newcomer
WILLSBORO — A challenger won the Republican Party race for Willsboro town supervisor against the incumbent in Tuesday's Primary Election. Darren Dickerson garnered 62 votes, compared to six-term supervisor Shaun Gillilland with 47 votes. Dickerson will be the Republican nominee in November's general election. Gillilland filed an independent nominating petition as the Willsboro-Reber Party and will still be on the Tuesday, Nov. 4 general election ballot as the independent candidate. Gillilland first took office in 2014 and is the chairman of the Essex County Board of Supervisors. Essex County had several Republican Party primaries Tuesday. Town of Elizabethtown Town Clerk/Tax Collector: Marietta Brady, 15 votes; Patti Doyle (winner), 74 votes. Town of North Hudson Town Council (two seats): Republican: Brian DeZalia (winner), 38 votes; Larry Koller (winner), 35 votes; Frank Darwak, 11 votes. Town Justice: Sally Wachowski (winner), 32 votes; Deborah Duntley, 20 votes. Town of Ticonderoga Town Justice: Thomas Dedrick, 135 votes; Brenda Wells, 85 votes; Thomas Ruby, 91 votes; Philippe LaPerle (winner), 176 votes. Town of Wilmington Superintendent of Highways: Louis Adragna (winner), 49 votes; Cameron Grady, 35 votes; Darren Lawrence, 7 votes. Clinton County Town of Schuyler Falls Town Council: Conservative: Shelia Baker (winner), 4 votes (write-in). Franklin County No local offices were on the ballot.

Legislature, town supervisor, council primaries decided: Steuben County election results
Republican primaries for town supervisor positions and seats on the Steuben County legislature were decided as voters went to the polls June 24 to determine who will receive party nominations on November's ballot. Just under 2,000 votes were cast, according to the unofficial tally. In District 9 of the Steuben County legislature, covering Cameron, Canisteo and Thurston, Michael J. Volino secured the Republican nomination with 196 votes. Frederick Thompson had 75 votes. In District 12, covering Erwin, incumbent James W. Kuhl held off two challengers with 109 votes. Drinald V. Bilcari had 70 votes and Kristen Klemenz-Westervelt received 26. In District 13, covering Caton, Corning and Hornby, Justin Eberlin was the top vote-getter with 275. Jenniffer L. Mullen received 62 votes. Here are voting results for Steuben County townships that held Republican primaries Tuesday. It was a tight race for two available spots on the ballot for Bath town council. Brian Knowles and Mike Hann both had 128 votes, according to the county's unofficial results. Hal W. Bailey followed closely with 124 votes. In another close race, this one for town supervisor in Campbell, Norman Maynard narrowly had the edge Tuesday night with 113 votes, while Michael Austin had 111. Also in Campbell, Les Smith was the top vote-getter with two spots available on the town council. Smith had 145 votes in the Republican primary, while Kyle Peterson was second with 129. Terry Wheat had 120 votes. Incumbent town supervisor Judith Hall won Cohocton's Republican primary with 124 votes, while Brian S. Giuliano had 96. Loraine M. Sanderson won the town clerk primary with 137 votes to 86 for Cassandra Sick. In the Republican primary for town council, Jonathan Weldy (156) and William E. Schumacher (135) had the most votes to win the race. Karen M. Johnson was third with 117 votes. In the Republican primary for town supervisor, Russell W. Morseman III won with 68 votes while William J. Reagan had 46. Also, in Rathbone's Republican primary for superintendent of highways, Richard W. Risley led the way with 69 votes. Dan Barney had 43 and Nathan McChesney had nine. In the Republican primary for town supervisor, Michael J. Volino won with 134 votes to 32 for Jeffery P. Sweeney. In the Republican primary for Troupsburg town supervisor, Abram N. Weeks won with 63 votes while Tonya R. Tompkins had 33. In Troupsburg's Republican primary for town council, Christopher Jordan (60) and Paula J. Brewer (56) took the top two spots. Kenneth A. LeCrone Jr. was third with 49 votes. In the Republican primary for town council, Laura L. Knowles had 29 votes, followed by Shirley Ann Dusty Bills with 27 and Robert Peoples with 22. In the Republican primary for superintendent of highways, Alan Trenchard had 66 votes in Wheeler while Richard J. Decker had 17.
