Missing Greensburg man's car located in Westmoreland County, police say
Police in Westmoreland County have located the vehicle of a man who has been missing and last seen in Greensburg nearly two weeks ago. Investigators say that a concerned citizen found the white Toyota Avalon belonging to Ruben Carranza off of Ridge Road in Acme on Saturday. Police say their investigation revealed that the car was purposely hidden on August 5, the same day Carranza first publicly reported missing. Carranza was last seen in Greensburg on July 29. According to police, the timing of the vehicle being hidden was no coincidence and that someone in the Acme area knows something. So far, evidence shows the car was first taken somewhere else on July 29 before it was moved to Ridge Road. Carranza's cell phone last pinged in the Mt. Pleasant area. Authorities say they searched there, Mammoth Park, Lynn Run State Park, and Beam Rocks, all places he visited often. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. If you know anything or spot Carranza, you're being asked to call Greensburg Police.

Teen killed in multi-vehicle crash in south St. Louis
ST. LOUIS – A teen was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in south St. Louis on Thursday. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), officials were alerted to the crash just before 10:40 a.m. on westbound I-44 near Arsenal Street. Investigators reported that before the crash, a Toyota Avalon was driving westbound at high speeds. Police say the driver of the Toyota, who was later identified as an 18-year-old male, lost control of the vehicle. The car ended up rotating as it was changing lanes, ultimately T-boning a Ford F250. SLMPD reported that the driver's side of the Toyota was stuck under the rear of the Ford F250. And when arriving at the crash, officials said the 18-year-old was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford F250 sustained no injuries, according to officials. SLMPD says an investigation into the fatal crash is underway. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Family desperate to find stolen car with sentimental items inside
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Midtown woman is asking for the public's help finding a stolen car with some irreplaceable items in the trunk. Wendy Grauer said when thieves drove off in her son's 2005 Toyota Avalon early Wednesday, they also took a set of golf clubs that belonged to her son's late father. Beau Grauer, a bartender at B-Side, was shot to death inside a home on Hawthorne in Midtown in July of 2022 during an apparent robbery. Less than a year later, Beau's older brother, Shea, was also shot and killed near Lockett Place near Madison and Belvedere by someone who took his wallet and cell phone. Wendy Grauer, who was divorced from Beau at the time of his death, said her then 15-year-old son, Cannon, was the last family member to see Beau alive. 'His dad kind of teased him about what he was wearing because he was going to a party in Germantown, and he was dressed really casually,' said Grauer. 'Beau actually took the shoes off his feet and gave them to Cannon that night, and gave him some shorts that he bought for Cannon's birthday.' She said Beau enjoyed golfing, and Cannon took up the sport after he inherited his father's golf clubs, which are now missing. 'They are pretty special to him. Yeah, there was one golf club in particular. I believe he said it was his driver,' said Grauer. 'It was given to Beau by his father, and his father passed away in September.' Grauer said the Avalon was stolen from her driveway on Lyndale sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. She said the thieves also rummaged through another car in her driveway and a neighbor's vehicle. Grauer said her son just recently got the Avalon. While he wants the car back, he's really hoping to find the golf clubs that belonged to his dad. 'They are pretty special to him,' said Grauer. 'It's just a way that he continues to stay connected to him.' If you have seen the stolen Avalon or know where it is, contact Memphis police at 545-COPS or call CrimeStoppers at (901)528-CASH. Life with shot at parole for Springfield man who gunned down mother of his children in 2019
SPRINGFIELD — A life sentence was handed down Tuesday for Anthony Potito, the Springfield man who shot his girlfriend in the face after he became convinced she gave him a sexually transmitted disease. Potito, 56, pleaded guilty to killing Shanike 'Nikki' Roldan, 28, and was sentenced in Hampden Superior Court, Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni announced Wednesday. On the second-degree murder count, Potito got life in state prison, with a chance at parole after 23 years. For the lesser charges — including having a gun without a license and receiving stolen property — Potito received an additional seven years of incarceration, to be served concurrently with the time in prison for murder. 'This case is a tragic example of how substance use can spiral into unimaginable tragedy. Shanike Roldan was a young woman whose life was taken far too soon. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones as they continue to grieve this loss,' Gulluni said. On Nov. 3, 2019, at 1:37 a.m., Springfield police were called to School Street, where a woman was unconscious and bleeding on the sidewalk. Responding officers found that Roldan had been shot in the head. She was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where she later died. Police spoke with a witness who identified Potito as the gunman. Surveillance video also had the crime recorded, in which Roldan was shot at twice from the driver's side of a gray Toyota Avalon. That car turned out to be his mother's sedan. Potito and Roldan had been in an on-and-off relationship, the DA's office said, and she was the mother of two of his children. Information retrieved from Potito's phone showed that he accused Roldan of infidelity, as well as prostitution. Rapidfire texts from Potito to Roldan stopped just before the murder. 'Well how about this, I'm going to go home and get my gun and kill you right now if I see you,' Potito's message to Roldan read, according to the DA's office. Shortly after that message was sent, Roldan was gunned down. Potito was arrested later that same day at his home, where they recovered a .44-caliber revolver, that had been fired twice.
