Polish Falcons of America's 85th annual bowling tournament makes return to Erie
A national bowling tournament has returned to Erie for the first time since 2016. Nest 610 hosted the Polish Falcons of America's 85th annual three-day tournament at Eastway Lanes. Tracy Elementary students gifted saplings for Arbor Day About 200 bowlers from all over the country competed in singles and doubles. Their sports director, Eddy Wyant, said it was his goal to get the national tournament back to Erie. Lt. Governor Davis gets first-hand look at Meadville area state investments 'You see all the team outfits and the team shirts and the amount of support we get, one for the charity that we brought in this year, which is Raising Rare,' said Wyant. 'It just goes to show how good people are in Erie, and when they support and love something, they come out in forces.' The festivities continued at their club after the tournament. Erie Port Authority pushes for Great Lakes restoration in D.C.
Representatives of Erie Port Authority are in Washington D.C. this week on behalf of Governor Shapiro and others for what's called the Great Lakes Days. Executive Director of the Port Authority Julie Slomski along with others are advocating for the Great Lakes, and in particular Lake Erie. Tracy Elementary unveils new book vending machine Participants have been meeting with local representatives talking about ways to bring funding into things like Great Lakes restoration as well as investments into our port infrastructure. 'What I like the most too is of course meeting with our legislators here in their D.C. offices but also to legislators throughout the Great Lakes and having conversations with them. I think that's very helpful too to understand how we all are one team,' said Julie Slomski, executive director of the Erie Port Authority.
