Bronwyn Tanner – Tuning In: Helping people and animals in need

We have just finished July…How is that possible? Wow, time has flown. Schools are back for the third term and Grade 12 learners will be making preparations for trials, which can be a stressful time for all concerned. Founder Tracy Klokie, together with Shemane Taylor and Lauren Giani, visited the SPCA to deliver a car load of love from the Winter Woofs & Whiskers Drive. They collected nearly a ton of supplies, including dog and cat food, kitty litter and blankets. Every donation has made a difference to tails that wag and whiskers that purr. There was a recent delivery of clothes, baby bundles and women's needs and comfort packs to GJ Crookes Hospital. They received the goods from Rachel Anderson and Karen Davy of Osisibathemba, Pennington. Osisibethemba (sisters of hope) works with the rape crisis centre at the hospital in Scottburgh to bless the less fortunate. They meet at Relton Hall on the first Thursday of every month. Donations are welcome, contact 076 2974457 or 083 3108479. The Hope Fundraising Festival, brought to the people of the South Coast by District 49 Child & Youth Care Centre supported by Lightness Productions, will light up the Blue Marlin All Inclusive Seascape in Scottburgh on October 4. Under the banner 'We care through love and protection', this community celebration seeks to rally families, businesses and volunteers for an afternoon of sport, music and joyful giving, all to secure vital funds for children who have endured abuse, neglect or abandonment. More details will be revealed in time for this fundraiser. TC Robertson Nature Reserve has a wish list that includes old car tyres for the playground, 20 litres of enamel white paint, indigenous plants for the memorial garden, 420g empty tin cans and wild bird seed. Your support would be greatly appreciated if you are able to contribute any of the items on the list. Contact 082 6227699.
