How Brian Robinson trade buzz is shaking up fantasy drafts
Yahoo Fantasy's Matt Harmon and Faraz Siddiqi of Upper Hand Fantasy react to the Commanders shopping their fifth-year running back and the fantasy potential for running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Hear the full conversation on the 'Yahoo Fantasy Forecast' podcast - and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript Brian Robinson is not playing tonight in the Monday Night Football preseason game. He is a trade candidate right now. The rumors have been persisting, and I think it was Ben Standing, formerly of The Athletic. I believe he has his own Substack now. It was the first one I saw saying that Brian Robinson could be a cut candidate. I was kind of shocked by that, but then other national reporters such as Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network have said, yeah, no, the Commanders are shopping Brian Robinson. So, for us, Jacori Krosky Merritt, otherwise known as Bill, which, hell, I just love that. Just call me Bill, love that. He has been a big-time hype bunny in the fantasy football streets. So, first of all, what was your reaction to the news that the Commanders are, I mean, it seems like a lock now at this point they're gonna part ways with Brian Robinson. That's what it seems like. I mean, this is not just speculation anymore. I mean, if Brian Robinson's asking, you know, not to play and the team is granting him that wish, that means it's pretty much locked in that, you know, they are looking to shop him or he doesn't seem to be, you know, in their plans. But, you know, it makes sense. I mean, he's not somebody who was necessarily, you know, an added, you know, huge added value to the offense, right? It wasn't because of Brian Robinson, they'll be winning games or going to be winning games this season, and it might go to show just how well Bill is actually doing in training camp. I just had Josh Taylor on, you know, he's a beat reporter for the Commanders for ANZ Sports on our podcast, and he basically said it himself that Brian Robinson is doing a lot, much of the same, but Bill is actually somebody who is popping. In almost every single camp, right? He's making plays, you know, all over the place, and I'm going to be really curious tonight to see what happens there, you know, what the split looks like, you know, how much of, you know, those first-team reps he's going to get alongside Austin Ekeler. It's going to be really interesting. And, you know, one thing about Bill is that, you know, you kind of look back and you look at what these guys were as prospects in college. I, I took a look. Among 857 FBS running backs with 200 or more carries since 2014. 95th percentile after contact rate, 98th percentile missed tackle rate, and 97th percentile breakaway run rate. Now, obviously, he didn't play you know, Power 4 Power Five football, you know, his entire career, but this is still worth something. Like he could actually be good. Close

Trade Idea Out Of Nowhere: Sacramento Kings Make All-In Move For Elite Point Guard
Trade Idea Out Of Nowhere: Sacramento Kings Make All-In Move For Elite Point Guard originally appeared on Fadeaway World. For weeks, the Sacramento Kings appeared destined to be major sellers in the offseason, dialing back expectations and quietly reinforcing depth. But with De'Aaron Fox gone and the spotlight on Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and Keegan Murray, whispers have grown louder: a bold trade out of nowhere could redefine the franchise's future. Sacramento could be laying the groundwork for a blockbuster trade to bring in a transcendent All-Star point guard, someone whose name would shake up the franchise's direction completely. That is why we propose an interesting trade idea that sends All-Star point guard Trae Young to the Kings for a massive package. Let's dive into how this could play out. It won't be easy to get Young out of Atlanta, but since the point guard's future is uncertain right now, the Kings could pounce when nobody expected them to. Proposed Trade Details Sacramento Kings Receive: Trae Young Atlanta Hawks Receive: DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk, 2028 first-round pick (SAC), 2029 first-round pick (SAC) Sacramento Kings Create A New Big Three To Challenge In The West Sacramento's offense already revolved around a potent trio, Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and Keegan Murray, but adding an All-Star point guard transforms that nucleus into something elite. Trae Young, fresh off a season where he led the NBA in assists (11.6 APG) while scoring 24.2 points per game over 76 games, brings elite playmaking and offensive fluidity to the formula. His ability to generate offense for others would perfectly complement Sabonis's interior dominance and LaVine's scoring versatility. When the offense flows through Young, every role player's strengths shine. Sabonis averaged a league-best 13.9 rebounds per game in 2024-25, anchoring a physical interior presence. Meanwhile, LaVine's scoring punch and Murray's emerging two-way prowess add perimeter spacing. Young's knack for high-assist games, he logged a 30-point, 20-assist outburst, including one with a game-winning three, elevates the ceiling of this cast. With this combination, Sacramento could pivot from fringe contender to genuine Western threat. Young injects creativity, Sabonis stabilizes the engine, and LaVine and Murray offer scoring and athleticism. Atlanta Hawks Bring Back Two Starting-Caliber Players And Two Picks On the flip side, the Atlanta Hawks walk away with two proven starters and coveted draft capital. DeMar DeRozan, reliable and efficient, averaged 22.2 points and 4.4 assists in 77 games during 2024-25, cementing his role as a top-tier scoring wing. His consistency in scoring, represented by his streak of 12+ seasons averaging 20+ PPG, brings veteran poise and offensive firepower. Malik Monk offers youthful upside and offensive versatility. Last season, he averaged 17.2 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.8 rebounds across 65 games, demonstrating his ability to create and score at multiple levels. Whether coming off the bench or starting, Monk gives Atlanta a dynamic scoring punch and secondary ball-handling that softens the hit of trading Young. Topping it off: the Hawks collect Sacramento's 2028 and 2029 first-round picks. In a conference where long-term flexibility and draft capital are invaluable, those picks offer both insurance and trade chips. Atlanta's balance of immediate rotation talent plus future upside makes this return believable, even bold, without mortgaging next year's team. A Trade Out of Nowhere… Making Kings Major Winners This would rank as one of the boldest, most unexpected moves of the offseason. Most saw Sacramento as a modest retool or seller, not a team capable of orchestrating a high-profile trade for an All-Star guard. From a value standpoint, Sacramento swings for the fences and wins big. Young's elite assist totals and offensive orchestration arguably outweigh the combined aging star power of DeRozan and the secondary upside of Monk. Add Sabonis's elite rebounding and Murray's youth, and the Kings suddenly boast a multifaceted offense capable of contending deep in the Western playoffs. This deal transforms the Kings from a quietly competitive roster into a headline-seeking playoff team. With a retooled core headlined by Young, Sabonis, and LaVine, Sacramento stakes its claim as a Western threat, and suddenly, their offseason pacing looks less like cautious planning and more like full-throttle story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Aug 10, 2025, where it first appeared.

Red Sox' Jarren Duran on trade rumors, what's ‘holding' him back, expectations
BOSTON — Red Sox leadoff hitter Jarren Duran wasn't just an AL All-Star in 2024. He was the All-Star Game MVP, the fifth Red Sox player ever to win it. "I feel like I'm putting this expectation on me to be the All-Star Game MVP guy every single night," Duran said Friday before Boston's game against the Blue Jays here at Fenway Park. 'I'm not really looking at it like it takes a whole season to be that player.' Advertisement Duran has gone 11-for-65 (.169 batting average) with a .217 on-base percentage and .292 slugging percentage in his past 17 games dating back to June 7 in New York. His season OPS is down to .711, 123 points lower than last year. 'I'm trying to kind of do it all at once every single night,' Duran said. 'And I feel like that's something that's kind of holding me back. So I think something I'm trying to do is just simplify everything and just take it one game at a time." The 28-year-old is leading the league in triples (8) but his .254/.307/.404/.711 line is down from .288/.349/.487/.836 on this date last season. 'Yeah, it's frustrating but I think it's more frustrating that I want to do better for the team and I'm not," Duran said. 'Honestly, I think right now I'm just trying to simplify things because I know that I'm trying to do too much just like all around. I just know that I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself.' Advertisement Duran said being named in trade rumors has not affected his play on the field. ESPN's Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel recently ranked MLB's top 50 trade deadline candidates. They had Duran second on the list, predicting a 25% chance of him getting traded. 'I mean, they talked about me last year getting traded, too, to the Padres and stuff like that,' Duran said. 'But I don't really take any of that into account because I don't really have any say over it. I have no say like, 'Hey, I don't want to go' or 'Hey, I do want to go.' So there's no point in me to like stress over it, which is kind of rare for me because I stress about everything. So for me not to stress over that is kind of a good thing. But yeah, I haven't really thought about it or anything like that. I'm just happy to be here and be with the guys.' Duran's home/road splits are considerably different. He's batting .294 with a .356 on-base percentage, .481 slugging percentage and .837 OPS in 39 games (177 plate appearances) at Fenway Park. He's slashing .220/.263/.335/.598 in 42 games (195 plate appearances) on the road. Duran said he was unaware his numbers were much better at Fenway and so he doesn't know how to explain it. Advertisement 'I feel like I'm not as comfortable at home,' Duran said. Duran has hit some balls very hard recently that have resulted in outs. He's in the 89th percentile in average exit velocity (92.3 mph) and 72nd percentile in hard hit percentage (46.9%) among major league hitters this season. He's also had excellent bat speed, ranking in the 84th percentile (74.5). Does he look at the expected numbers compared to the actual numbers to help calm him a bit? 'I don't really look at any of the numbers," Duran said. 'Sometimes I don't really understand what they're trying to do. But I know hitting the ball hard is always a good place to start. It means I'm getting the pitch I want, I'm putting a good swing on it and stuff like that. But we all know baseball's a very frustrating sport. And I can hit it 115 (mph) right at a guy and still get out and it's still going to show up 0-for-1. It's not going to say, 'Oh, at least he hit it hard.' But maybe I'll find like a little duck ball that falls in and it gets me rollin'." Advertisement Manager Alex Cora said he's not sure why Duran hasn't been able to get going offensively for a consistent stretch. 'No idea, man. Wish I knew,' Cora said. 'It's not lack of effort or preparation. It just hasn't happened. I think he hit the ball hard a few times during the road trip. Hopefully here he can hit a few off the wall and get that good feeling.' More Red Sox coverage Read the original article on MassLive.
