Rail services at Uckfield and Buxted resume after signal failure
Rail services to and from Uckfield and Buxted have resumed after a signal failure caused train which operate the services between the East Sussex towns and London Bridge, said it needed to locate the fault in the signalling cables, which were 19 miles in fault, which was first reported on Friday, was located and fixed on Monday, with the 05:31 BST being the first service to run on Tuesday replacement buses had served Uckfield and Buxted stations, which ran to Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells, where connections to London were available.
Easements were also in place for passengers that drove to affected stations, meaning that people could park at Crowborough, Haywards Heath or Three Bridges and parking easements have been lifted after train services resumed as per the normal timetable.
