GOT7's Mark to drop solo single ‘High As You' on May 30

SEOUL, May 22 — Mark, a member of South Korean boy band GOT7, is reportedly set to return as a solo artist with a new single scheduled for release on May 30, according to his agency Transparent Arts. According to The Korea Herald, Transparent Arts said in a statement on Wednesday that the prerelease track titled High As You is an alternative pop song that highlights Mark's distinct melodic style and performance skills. The agency, which recently signed him, also manages Far East Movement, the Los Angeles-based group known as the first Asian American act to top the US Billboard chart. Mark debuted in 2014 as part of the seven-member group GOT7 and has been pursuing solo projects since 2021. He later founded an independent label called Dreamers N Achievers to support his solo activities. The upcoming release follows GOT7's recent two-day concert in Bangkok earlier this month. The event took place at Thailand's national stadium and reportedly drew a crowd of about 85,000 fans. GOT7 continues to maintain its group activities while members also explore individual projects.

The Rose to return with new EP

New EP 'Wrld' to be released May 30 The Rose, one of the most popular Korean bands in the global music scene, is back with new music after a hiatus of a year and a half. On Friday, The Rose announced the upcoming release of a new EP, "Wrld," set for May 30. Known for a wide musical spectrum ranging from powerful sounds to emotionally comforting melodies, the band said through its agency, Transparent Arts, the new album will "blend the essence of our early emotions with genre experimentation on a musical journey." The album is set to explore themes of self-reflection and growth in The Rose's unique style. Having debuted in 2017, the four-piece band has established a strong presence in the global music scene with its distinctive sound and deep emotional resonance. In April 2024, The Rose performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The year prior in 2023, the band performed at multiple global music festivals, including Lollapalooza iterations in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Stockholm and Chicago. The group also took the stage at BST Hyde Park in London. The Rose's first full-length album released in 2022, "Heal," fittingly delivered a message of healing. It reached No. 4 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. The Rose's second full-length album released in September 2023, "Dual," marked the band's first entry on the Billboard 200. "Wrld" releases at 1 p.m. on May 30.
