Fredericton man charged with child pornography, luring charges
A 36-year-old Fredericton man is facing child pornography and child luring charges after an investigation by the New Brunswick RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
The RCMP started investigating in July after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.
RCMP and Fredericton Police Force officers executed a search warrant at a home in Fredericton on Feb. 25. They arrested a man at the scene and seized several electronic devices.
Travis Carrier was released on conditions pending a future court appearance.
Carrier appeared in Fredericton provincial court on Thursday. He is facing the following charges:
possession of child pornography
transmission of child pornography
luring a child he believed to be under the age of 18 to commit an offence
luring a child he believed to be under the age of 16 to commit an offence
failure to comply with an undertaking
Carrier is due back in court on July 24.
The RCMP says it received information from the Orange County Sheriff's Office during the investigation that helped it lay additional charges in the case.
" This is a good example of how we can partner with other agencies to achieve successful outcomes in criminal investigations," said Martine Losier-Roy from the New Brunswick RCMP.'
The RCMP says anyone with information about suspected child sexual exploitation should report it to their local police, Canada's national tip line at or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
