It was then rebranded as Privilege in 1995 when it became known as the world's largest club with parties of up to 10,000 people at a time. Now, after viral marketing campaigns featuring a UFO sighting, and Hollywood star Will Smith, plus a multi-million pound makeover, it has been redesigned as the 'world's first hyperclub.' And what does that mean exactly? Apparently, it's the combination of high-end luxury and attention to detail, in an arena-sized event. Shooting at Capital Jewish Museum highlights rising wave of anti-Jewish hate crimes
The shooting of two Israeli Embassy employees in Washington, D.C., after a Jewish event Wednesday highlights the struggle American cities face trying to protect Jewish citizens and landmarks, which have repeatedly been targeted by radicals and terrorists over the years. Anti-Jewish hate crimes have soared to record highs, according to the Anti-Defamation League, citing FBI data. Massacres include the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh in 2018 and the Oct. 7, 2023 terror attack Hamas launched on Israel. Large police departments, like the NYPD, have been focused on target-hardening efforts to improve safety in and around Jewish landmarks for years. "Unfortunately, over the decades, special attention has had to be paid when there is a Jewish or Israeli theme to these locations and events," said Paul Mauro, a retired NYPD Inspector. "This was only heightened after 9/11, after the Tree of Life murders in Pittsburgh, after 7 October – after so many others." Police Raid Dc Shooting Suspect Elias Rodriguez's Chicago Apartment In New York, police have visibly beefed up their presence outside synagogues, the Israeli consulate and the Big Apple's own Jewish Museum. Read On The Fox News App When there's even the perceived chance of a threat, the department will routinely beef up security around Jewish landmarks in the city. Some have a visible police presence all year. "The good news is that NYPD knows how to do this and, while nothing is perfect, they have developed great expertise in this area — often thanks to best-practices gleaned from partner agencies around the world," Mauro said. Israeli Official Warns Of The Growing 'Tsunami' Of Antisemitism Many other departments have adopted the NYPD's protocols. Whenever attacks take place, police around the country are quick to announce increased patrols near places of worship. Despite years of police efforts, attacks continue, including a shooting at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night. The 31-year-old suspect, Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, is accused of fatally shooting two Israeli Embassy workers from behind after they left an event sponsored by the American Jewish Committee. Opinion: Stop Talking, Start Teaching: New York Must Fight To End Antisemitism In Our Schools Mauro told Fox News Digital that visible security measures may have influenced the decision to attack outside the venue rather than within the building. "The fact that the story is that he was pacing around out front, and that the event was going on right there, and then he decided to do it outside?" he said. "He traveled all the way from Chicago to do this?" He noted that the venue and organizers did have some security measures in place. The invitations were encrypted and limited. At least one off-duty MPD officer was inside for security. The officer, who was wearing a police vest, may have scared the suspected gunman from opening fire inside the building, he said. "I think he saw the security and said, 'I'm better off not going in there and getting shot myself,'" Mauro speculated. "He didn't decide to shoot it out. He decided to pull a Mangione. He wanted to live." Luigi Mangione, a 27-year-old Ivy League grad turned suspected killer, is accused of gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson from behind after stalking him in Manhattan. He allegedly had a manifesto outlining his disdain for the health insurance industry in his backpack when police arrested him at a Pennsylvania McDonald's days later. A possible manifesto from Rodriguez was being investigated by the FBI to verify its authenticity, Deputy Director Dan Bongino revealed on X Thursday. The Jewish community has also taken its own measures to increase security. Texas resident David Katz, a former DEA agent and the CEO of the Global Security Group, uses his expertise on active-shooter response to train Jewish volunteers to protect their own synagogues on the side. "I can't believe, still, that someone could be pacing in an agitated manner outside a major Jewish institution and no one challenges the guy?" he told Fox News Digital. "No one calls the police to even interview him?" An outside presence is a key aspect of security that Katz teaches, he said. "In my synagogue, one of the volunteers would simply go out and say hi," he explained. "Engage the person and see how they respond. You look for body language clues while scanning for concealed weapons. We would have back-up volunteers ready to act. Everyone is armed and everyone is trained."Original article source: Shooting at Capital Jewish Museum highlights rising wave of anti-Jewish hate crimes

MrBeast explores 2000-year-old ancient Mexican temples, enters Balankanche Cave to witness the ‘tree of life'
YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is back with another jaw-dropping adventure that has his fans glued to their screens. This time, the world's most-subscribed YouTuber takes us deep inside Mexico in a cinematic vlog that feels straight out of Jumanji. Titled 'I Explored 2000 Year Old Ancient Temples,' the video documents a thrilling expedition through some of the Yucatán Peninsula's most mystical sites, including Calakmul, Chichen Itza, and the enigmatic Balankanche Cave. Joined by two of his friends, MrBeast kicks off his adventure at the King's Palace before plunging into the untamed jungle. Along the way, they encounter black howler monkeys, venomous spiders, and a swarm of bats. They finally reach the sacred Balankanche Cave, where ancient Maya believed all human life began. Before entering, MrBeast and his team pause for a spiritual ritual. 'Deep inside of there is what they called the Tree of Life,' he explains. 'They believed that all of us spawned from this very majestic, beautiful tree deep in this cave.' Their local guide elaborates, 'This is so sacred that we're going to do a ceremony to ask for permission from the spirits of the cave.' A purification ritual is performed at the cave's entrance, symbolically preparing them for the journey ahead. Once granted spiritual approval, the group ventures deeper into the cave, but the path is far from easy. As they descend further, the temperature rises, making the journey even more challenging. Finally, they arrive at the awe-inspiring 'Tree of Life', a sacred Ceiba tree that the Maya believed held up the sky. But the exploration doesn't stop there. The group pushes forward, reaching sections of the cave where the air is so thin they require oxygen support to continue. Watch here: Meanwhile, INAH (Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History) confirmed that Donaldson's visits to several Mayan archaeological zones were carried out with full permission from the federal Ministry of Tourism and the governments of Campeche and Yucatán. INAH emphasised that its staff were present throughout the production to enforce safety and preservation protocols. However, according to a local media outlet, the Ministry of Culture in Mexico threatened sanctions and legal action against the YouTuber for allegedly misrepresenting events and violating the intended use of cultural heritage sites.

Mayday Parade celebrates 50 years of art and protest
Dancers, musicians, and puppeteers perform in the Tree of Life ceremony during the 50th annual Mayday Parade to Powderhorn Park Sunday, May 4, 2025. (Photo by Nicole Neri/Minnesota Reformer) This year marked the 50th anniversary of the Mayday Parade in south Minneapolis, which drew thousands of celebrants who enjoyed puppetry, avante garde music and worker solidarity on a pitch-perfect spring day. 'It has always been about welcoming spring, but always about potent things like workers' rights. It's about community solidarity from the community,' said Andrew Bendzick, a mechanic with a Southside artist collective known as Battletrain. He helps make sure the heavy, complex metalwork art installations can move smoothly on the parade route, which runs along Bloomington Ave. from E. 28th St. to Powderhorn Park. Celebrants came dressed in flowers and animal masks. Many brought their instruments and played in impromptu ensembles. Bikes were locked several deep on every fence and railing. People shouted 'happy Mayday.' They sprayed bubbles and threw fistfuls of flower petals. Mayday helps Minnesotans 'remember why we live here, why we love this community, and trying to take it back, take it back to community, and make it safe for everybody,' Bendzick said. The parade comes at a perilous time, as workers face increasing threats from the Trump administration and an opportunistic corporate sector committed to rolling back labor rights. The parade and event, which carries on a long European tradition of May Day that welcomes spring and commemorates International Workers' Day, has no central leadership nor funding. Instead, a decentralized collective of puppet workshops, neighborhood groups, arts organizations and other volunteers create the event. Liz Zinsli, an artist with Battletrain, said she's been watching the parade since she was a teenager, and contributing to Battletrain's massive Mayday projects for 10 years. 'We always need those reminders of beauty and fun, and of what we can really do together on this very grassroots level,' said Zinsli. 'And remembering that, I think that's really important. Remembering how much can really be done in a decentralized way and in a collaborative way is really powerful.' Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre started the original Mayday celebration in 1974, but 'released it' to the community in 2023. The celebration continued this year, with huge crowds lining the street to watch the parade and later filling Powderhorn Park for the Tree of Life ceremony, in which colorful boats bring the sun across Powderhorn Lake as musicians and puppeteers perform.
