Previewing the 2025 season for Texas A&M OL Trey Zuhn III with his player profile

As we gear up for the 2025 football season, Aggies Wire is breaking down every player on the Texas A&M roster. Throughout the preseason, each profile will highlight a player's background, recruiting rankings out of high school, and projected role under head coach Mike Elko. Trey Zuhn III is one of three Aggies on the offensive line considered among the premier players at his position in the conference. He's held a starting spot since his redshirt freshman season and routinely picked up awards at the team's annual banquets. He was part of the group that helped the running game rank 26th in the nation and second in the SEC, averaging 195.5 yards per game. Zuhn could have entered the NFL Draft this year after a season in which he was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week and earned a spot on the 2024 All-SEC Third Team. Instead, he chose to return for a chance to compete for an SEC title and improve his stock ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Preseason Player Profile Hometown: Dallas, Texas Height: 6-7 Weight: 320 lbs. Class in 2025: Graduate Student Recruiting Rankings (Class of 2021) National: No. 285 Position (OT): No. 20 Colorado No. 2 The former four-star prospect was a top recruit out of Colorado, where he was a two-sport athlete, competing in shot put and discus alongside football. Depth Chart Outlook Trey Zuhn III is a Day 1 starter at left tackle and is expected to be one of several Aggies linemen drafted in 2026. His size, footwork, and impressive athleticism make him one of the most important players on the 2025 roster, protecting Marcel Reed's blindside throughout the season. Two Texas A&M OL named to Outland Trophy watch list

Texas A&M's 2025 offensive line has been nationally hailed as an elite unit based on the returning talent, size, and power that all five presumed starters possess, led by the return of left tackle Trey Zuhn III, left guard Chase Bisontis, center Mark Nabou, right guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams, and right tackle Dametrious Crownover. On Tuesday, two of the five starters were named to the Outland Trophy watch list. Returning for their final seasons in College Station, Trey Zuhn and Ar'maj Reed-Adams are considered first or second-round NFL Draft selections heading into next spring, and are two of the top players at their position, resulting in an unsurprising addition to the Outland watch list. Zuhn's ascendence as the program's starting left tackle began during the latter half of the 2022 season after starting 11 games, as the Colorado native's 6'7", 315-pound frame has made current OL coach Adam Cushing's job from a development standpoint much easier. Reed-Adams, who transferred from Kansas before the 2024 season after making 31 appearances and 15 starts with the Jayhawks, settled in at right guard, starting every game last season. For a program that once consistently worried about offensive line play, this is quite the positive shift heading into the 2025 campaign, as all five starters and several reserve options are seen as future NFL players. Here is more on the Outland Trophy's background provided by Texas A&M Athletics' website: The Outland Trophy, celebrating its 80th year since its founding, is the third-oldest major college football award. Created in 1946 when Dr. John Outland presented the FWAA with a financial contribution to initiate the award, the Outland Trophy has been given to the best interior lineman in college football ever since Dr. Outland, an All-American at the University of Pennsylvania in the late 1890s, eventually took up practice in Kansas City, Mo. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Outland believed linemen did not get the credit they deserved and wanted an award to recognize them. 2027 OL Prospect Ismael Camara Impresses at Texas A&M Football Camp

2027 OL Prospect Ismael Camara Impresses at Texas A&M Football Camp originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas A&M Aggies are pursuing a top offensive line talent in the Class of 2027 on the recruiting trail, and he's managed to turn some heads with offseason camp performances this summer. Advertisement Ismael Camara, a four-star offensive tackle prospect currently ranked the 10th-best at the position in his class by 247Sports, landed an offer from the Aggies in November 2024 -- just his second Power 4 offer at the time. Now, Camara has 13 different power conference programs pursuing him, and is looking to raise his stock via his performances at different Division 1 camps throughout the offseason. Camara, a Gilmer (TX) product, recently popped up at a Texas A&M summer camp, and demonstrated exactly why he's such a highly touted prospect despite his lack of varsity film. He looked right at home with the best talents the Aggies' camp had to offer, easily handling multiple defensive lineman while battling a foot injury -- footage of his performance can be found below. The 6-foot-6, 330-pounder is entering his junior season of prep football but was restricted to the JV roster last season due to his transfer regulations, as the Le Mans, France native moved across seas to pursue his football career. Advertisement 'The conversations in the crowd every Thursday night, everyone was just watching him the whole time, it really fun to be a part of,' Gilmer offensive line coach Weston Griffis told KLTV. The stop in College Station wasn't the only summer camp that Camara has impressed at, as he took home the MVP award among offensive lineman at the 2025 Rivals Dallas Camp in early May. Other Aggie prospects have also been earning opportunities at summer camps, including quarterback Helaman Casuga and EDGE Jordan Carter. Head Coach Mike Elko Is 'Really Excited About We're Where Going' With His Texas A&M Aggies

Head Coach Mike Elko Is 'Really Excited About We're Where Going' With His Texas A&M Aggies originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Texas A&M Aggies have belief and that's all rooted in head coach Mike Elko. Advertisement At the Fort Worth A&M Club Coach's Night, Elko spoke to the doubts and wavering faith that fans, media, and the general public have about Texas A&M football. But what matters is what's fostered in the locker room. With a crew of veterans and returners, Elko has no worry that everyone on his roster believes in the Aggie program and feels like an Aggie at heart. Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko celebrating a win with his Safranek/Imagn Images "I'm really excited about where we're going," Elko said. "And I think this year, we have a chance to really take this thing forward . . . from start to finish." Texas A&M football is bringing back 16 returning starters and have 23 players entering their final year of eligibility, which is becoming less and less common with the NFL draft and age of NIL. Advertisement Of these starters, the offensive line is coming in hot. "The roster starts with the offensive line . . . we're able to bring back our top seven players," Elko said. ". . . getting Trey Zuhn [III] before the NFL draft, getting Ar'maj Reed-Adams before going into the NFL draft, bringing back both of [those] captains . . . those were huge 'gets' for us." Crownover's 76.0 run blocking grade and Zuhn's 80.5 pass protection grade earned them earned them the third and fourth spots, respectively, on PFF's highest-rated returning tackles in the SEC. Advertisement When the Aggies start with their offensive line, everything else can fall into place. Marcel Reed has something to prove this season, and the improvements in the wide receiver and tight end positions will assist in that. Aside from those added from the transfer portal, Theo Melin Ohrstrom had huge growth in the offseason, according to Elko. In the 2024 season, Ohrstrom had 10 receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns. The backfield, though, didn't need the portal to amplify it, it only needed time and recovery. Texas A&M Aggies running back Rueben Lew With Rueben Owens and Le'Veon Moss back from injury, Elko expressed his excitement for the two to hit the ground running in the fall. Advertisement "[Moss] looks awesome . . . I'll clap for that one," Elko said. A player that went under the radar in terms of injury and recovery last season was EJ Smith. Elko expects Smith to stand out in the 2025-26 season, something that may be surprising for those that weren't aware of the injuries he had coming into the season. "When you can bring back four experienced ball carriers, three of whom are going into the last year of college football, they believe in A&M." After a 8-5 overall and 5-3 SEC record in 2024, the Aggies their sights set on advancing further both in the upcoming season and as a program overall. Elko and his team know that they have all the tools on the field and in the locker room to accomplish just that.
